I always thought it was strange that the "vulnerable to knives" thing wasn't picked up on in TDK. It violates Chekov's gun! So this was pretty damn awesome.

Spike was my first thought, too. I'm not even sure the writers would disagree — they're pretty upfront about keeping him around because they just liked him. But once he stopped being a villain, he sucked.
