The second half of this was one of the worst things the show has ever done, this season or otherwise.

Dave Returns definitely seemed to be a polarizing (or Poehlerizing! … sorry) episode for a lot of people, but I just loved it. Blatant guest star-ism aside, the performances were all solid, particularly from Ben in one of the show's very best attempts at the awkward-com that used to be The Office's bread and butter. I

I think a slight downfall was almost inevitable, considering the comedic gold of season 2 and the nigh unattainable greatness of season 3. That being said, we're still allowed to be disappointed, right?

I liked this episode well enough (gave it a B), but I didn't think it was one of the show's best by any means. Maybe that's just because I am constantly wary of the enthusiastically unfunny Fred Armisen — a subpar SNL performer and a man who is capable of dragging even my favorite NBC sitcoms down with his appearance.
