I'm a little late, but newish stuff: Torche, COC, Horseback, Royal Thunder, Liberteer, Gojira (new single), Baroness (new single - CANNOT WAIT for Yellow & Green).

I have Paradise Lost on my list of groups to dig into. Decibel has a huge spread on them this month. Accept too. Yeah, that's my bad for sleeping on them.
Been said before but I'll say it again: FUCK CANCER.
The beat is from Funk Factory, but where is that scratching from?
Fishin' in my boat & I'm fish in' for trout/ Mix the Bass ale with the Guinness stout
Just watched the video. 20+ years later and it's still awesome.
You hear the latest Torche? I'm digging that album (love all their stuff). Not as classic metal sounding as the stuff you mentioned, but there's no harsh vocals. Some other clean vocal stuff I'm digging lately is the new Corrosion of Conformity and the new Pallbearer.
You nailed it man. Stuff came out in the 80s and no one's caught up to them yet.
@avclub-c73188fc1ddc95f6d0728dfe02bfcf7c:disqus, I saw them last Wed. in NYC. Show was a blast. You'll have a great time.
I apologize if someone else already said this, but I find it pretty amazing how just about all of the 80s thrash bands that have reunited have put out really really good albums (Overkill, Death Angel, Anthrax, Testament, Kreator, etc.) I can't even think of any that have been clunkers.
I hear you. But for bands that I love, I'll always give 'em a pass as long as I feel like they're following their muse. I'm happy to go along for the ride. And Blue Record is probably one of my top 10 metal records of all time. That one just took hold of me, what can I say.
Thanks man, I'll check 'em out.
Beyond excited to read in Decibel that the new Baroness is coming out later this year.
I want to love Municpal Waste but all I hear in the vocals is DRI. I have that problem with a lot of the thrash revival stuff (Vektor/Kreator, Bonded By Blood/Exodus, Evile/Metallica, Warbringer/Slayer, etc.) Maybe I'm too particular, but I always wind up fixating on that aspect of it.
(Totally serious question): UMD, I'm pretty schooled in 70s/80s reggae and 90s dancehall, but what is a killer reggae/dancehall album from the last 10 years or so I should be listening to? Thanks.
I lived and breathed Feel The Fire, Taking Over, Under The Influence, and The Years Of Decay.
Release Time Fades Away in any format and we can talk.
I agree with this 100% UMD. I look at these guys like I look at Skeletonwitch. They seem like awesome guys, and I like their vibe, but they always put the riff and/or the shred before the song. That said, I always root for them both.
I gotta say, I think the last Ghost album is a modern classic. Can't wait to see them open the Mastodon/Opeth tour. I know it was done by BOC first, but those harmonies and SONGS - wow.
