No one asked, but my all time favorite German thrash album is Destruction's Eternal Devastation.

Let's be real man.  All of us metalheads are goofballs.

Deathcore.  Metalcore.  Screamo.

@avclub-fbca7c48c185890bd31f538b91ba5fbb:disqus c'mon, Torche are awesome!

I can't believe there's no support for the first Maiden album!  I love each of the first 7 albums, but I love the rawness and the production of that one.  When I listen I feel like I'm sitting in a rehearsal room with the band in 1980.

Wasted Years is probably my favorite song of theirs, for purely sentimental reasons (remember coming home from school and seeing the video on Dial MTV every afternoon.  Plus as young kids, that opening riff sounded like it was beamed in from Mars).

No love for Children Of The Damned???

I think "See You In Hell" is one of the most perfect metal songs ever.  Honestly.  It's so pure in its over the top 1984-ness, that I can't help but think it's the purest, most undistilled mid 80s metal ever.

Not black metal, but Gojira are a pretty great French metal band.

@avclub-43edb3c11a13c8e514cc3559b116b761:disqus I'm calling your comment bullshit.  Everyone knows the "East Coast" is really just Philly, New York, and Boston.
Hey North Carolina, quit riding our jock!

I agree Pervy Obit!  There simply is no other excuse!

Not sure I agree.  What's the concept?  A day in the hood or some other such nondescript thing?  You can say that about a lot of rap albums.

The Ugly Organ was the only one I ever heard.  I liked it, and every so often I wonder whether it's worth seeking out their other records.  From these posts, it seems it isn't.  I will give a big shout to The Recluse and especially Driftwood A Fairytale (that will take its place on any all time great Cure rip off mix

Nah, Heller's OK.

I think one of the guys in Powerman 5000 was Rob Zombie's little brother.

I don't know what's worse, the skit with Dr. Dre banging that girl on The Chronic or the skit with B.I.G. banging that girl on Ready To Die.

I feel the same way about the Tracy Morgan skit "How To Pay Rent" on the Meth, Ghost and Rae album.

Been totally digging the Atlas Moth album.  It's great.  Sludgy-proggy.

Plus Pitchfork brought back Brandon Stousy's Show No Mercy column.

It baffles me that people have an axe to grind with Baroness.  Maybe they're not totally extreme or whatever, but doesn't outstanding classic songs count for anything?
