Someone told me this album wasn't great, but to be fair, the cat is finicky.

Just wanted to say hi to Smacky.

Deep cut - We Had To Tear This Muthaf-cka Up. Incredible.
Doctor's Office is the worst. But even the deeper cuts (Bitches Ain't Shit, Stranded On Death Row, Lil Ghetto Boy, The Chronic Intro, etc.) are still great.
Responding to @avclub-5a36726cd1d9ea6f9e350c2e67a43f18:disqus - now THAT is an awesome CD (meaning how they tacked on Kill At Will). I love Death Certificate too, but the anti Korean and anti Jew stuff is really hard to listen to on that album.
Of course Public Enemy is untouchable, and of course they're in the discussion of greatest hip hop group of all time, and of course Black Steel is a masterpiece.
ELO or ELP.
Dude, that link is awesome and I thank you for it. I could be wrong, but it sounds a lot like "Opinion", an acoustic version of which you can find on With The Lights Out.
Oh yeah, I saw the in like 97 or so. I crowd surfed right up to the front during I'm Not A Loser. Milo stuck his microphone in my face and I belted my heart out. I'm trying to forget the pretty awful lyrics I sang (Google the last few lines - ugh), but I was in the moment. Don't judge me. Those dudes weren't…
I like this album A LOT (one of my favorites of the year, along with Kylesa and Kvelertak), but it's always strange to see that one album or two that is anointed as the official "crossover" record. Last year it was Pallbearer and Torche. Who decides? Strange.
Can't figure out how to respond to you in this thing Smacky.
One of my favorite metal albums of the year. If you're looking for another great gateway metal album, check out Kylesa's "Ultraviolet".
Just about to post this YES!
Smacky - curious to get your take on the new QOTSA (which I haven't heard yet).
LOVE that new Kvelertak album. I liked the last one fine, but this new one is awesome (loses steam toward the end, but still tremendous album and one of my faves of 2013).
Thanks a lot for the tip off. Looks pretty damn cool.
@Jason Heller: With the demise of Loud, do you think you could maybe run just one metal review per week? It'd give the metalheads a place to congregate. Pitchfork runs a lot of metal reviews nowadays, believe it or not. No reason AV Club couldn't do the same. Thanks man. PS - Noticed your review in this month's…
I'm seeing Kylesa in June and Baroness in August (both for the first time) and I couldn't be more psyched.
I like Black Tusk, but I kind of put them with High On Fire and Skeletonwitch and bands of that ilk. I root for them, and I like them fine enough, but I think the songs don't really stick with me like they should. I call those bands beer hoisting music, because they're pretty awesome for hoisting beers to.
