Oh man.  Did I really use dial up to download an album from Napster?  Did I really tie up my roomate's phone line for 3 hours for a few DMX songs?  I did.  Now where my dogs at?

I still have stuff on my ipod with that "Napster glitch" - that weird skipping/scratching sound that randomly interrupts a song for a second here or there.

Yup.  As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti…

"Me and my old man, let's just say we didn't see eye to eye.  Then I flunked my draft physical."

In the 90s I used to love talking about the fact that Neil Young was the only classic rocker left still putting out essential albums.  Then the 00s happened, and I can't say that anymore.

I liked The Rising and Magic a lot.  The Seeger Sessions, Devils & Dust, and Working On A Dream didn't do much for me though.

Wait a second, Hermey is one thing, but now you're saying Cornelius too?  Who next?  The Bumble?

It is the season of forgiveness, after all.

He went over the cliff with the bumble!  What were they supposed to do?  They had a long walk back, and it was still snowing.

Pfffft.  Everyone knows the only true Christmas Donkey is Dominic The Donkey.

And let's face it.  In 2011 we can admit what we always suspected about Hermey.

I was into the Chili Peppers at the time, and they wore those giant lightbulbs on their heads, so I think they were fine (if not a little uninspiring without Frusciante).

I'm far from an expert on this subject, but every few years I try to get into some of this stuff (of course, as an ignorant American I just lump the Madchester and shoegaze stuff together - whatever, it's all British anyway).  The Happy Mondays' Pills N Thrills N Bellyaches is a pretty great record, though it

I don't know much about Lush other than they opened Lollapalooza 92 and were followed by Ten-era Pearl Jam, riding the crest of a tidal wave.  Lush never had a chance.

People really like to bust on Ned's, but back in 90/91, before I knew they weren't supposed to be cool, I really liked the God Fodder album.  (Actually, I still like it, even though I haven't heard anything but Grey Cell Green in ages).

Surprised they picked "White Limo", the least Foo Fighterist song they've ever released.  I've got no beef with the Foos though, and White Limo's great.

"White Limo" is pretty incredible.  They should do more of that.

I'm not trying to be outrageous, but Sum 41's "Does This Look Infected" album is actually pretty great.  No, I wouldn't believe you if you told me either.

On the ninth day of Dawesmas my true Hyden gave to me, nine tight plaid shirts, eight trucker caps, seven wallet chains, six Pabst Blue Ribbons,  fiiiiive fixiiie wheeeels, four cardigans, three woolen scarves, two indie beards, and that sweet Laurel Canyon Sound
