Ridiculous courtroom drama scenes…
…are my favorite parts of tv shows/movies. Futurama has some GREAT ones… "Now I''m not a big city lawyer like my opponent over here…" On the commentary, the writers said one of them is a lawyer and he handled all the courtroom-speak. I wonder if it's the same on other shows as well?

I still liked Quantum of Solace. The opera scene was worth the price of admission for me. Having said that, Casino Royale is light years better.

Good point, Hoodwink. It *was* never a video game. That might have been one of the reasons why it bombed. If they had made a movie like one of the video games, it may have turned out better. At least it gave a role to Alec Baldwin, James Woods, and Steve Buscemi.

Wow Wikipedia Detective, I apologize for shitting in your cereal. I didn't realize my not having heard of Hal Hartley and trying to contribute to a comment board on a website I frequent would set you off so badly. Again, my apologies.

After reading over the comments, I realize it was Princess Daisy and *not* actually Princess Peach. What is the fucking difference between the two? Is there a wiki on this shit?

Haha, Karatloz, I still have comic books with Double Dragon ads! I also have a few with Army of Darkness ads too. That movie was much different than the poster suggested. Bruce Campbell looked like a guy on the cover of a romance novel!

Oh wow the Final Fantasy movie… that was a notorious bomb. It was directly responsible for Square closing down an entire studio… an entire *brand new* studio that cost a fortune to build.

Has no one played Half-Life 2? That is the best game of all time, hands down.

Super Mario Bros.
Wow… I haven't watched this since the mid-90s. I have to say, it has a special place in my heart because of how bad it is, but then again I really only remember a few scenes. I remember a man "de-volving" into a monkey for some reason. I also remember Luigi was romantically linked to the Princess

I'm slipping in my young age!
I guess I'm too young, but I've never even heard of Hal Hartley or Trust. At least I'd heard of last week's director (Haneke). I'd say "Take away my hipster douchebag cred" but I have none left.

Blade Runner
"These are my toys. I made them!" This guy is seriously my favorite part of Blade Runner.

Woot!
New Futurama is mightily enticing! Hopefully they'll end up better than the somewhat-mediocre movies. I'm guessing all the original cast will be back?? Please say yes!

I feel the same way about a lot of celebrities who are around my age (mid-20s). You're point is valid and you're definitely not alone in your assessment of your 19 year old self.

Will we ever tire of anti-heroes?
I say no, we won't. Look at Ben Linus, Walter White, James "Sawyer" Ford, Don Draper, Vic Mackey …hell even Jack Donaghy was supposed to be something of a villain (or at least a foil to Liz Lemon) but he has become perhaps the most popular character on the show. Anti-heroes are great

Santa Claus
I've never actually seen it, but Santa Claus Conquers the Martians? That has to feature some Santa ass-kicking right?

Meh, I'm on vacation.

Damn!
I thought maybe one of the brothers in the late 90s pop group Hanson had died. This is infinitely sadder than that ever would have been.

DMTH and Up
I saw both over the weekend, and loved both. DMTH is a really great throw-back to 80s horror movies, right down to the Universal logo and the Evil dead references. It was a rollicking good time in the theater too. The crowd went wild at many points throughout. I'm a bit disappointed to see it didn't gross

"Unforeseen Consequences" was also the name of a chapter in Half-Life. Just thought that was cool. :)

ABQ
Wow! What a season!
