Pearl Jam
I love Pearl Jam. I always have and I always will. I know many people will denigrate them for their decision to go Target only, and I can understand that. But I'll still listen to the music because no amount of protest and guitar playing are going to make corporations go away any time soon. Being that CDs

You can just feel Walt's anxiety…
All the lies he's told, wrongs he's done, people he's screwed over (directly and indirectly) just lead the audience into feeling his anxiety. Every time the phone rings… every time someone knocks on the door… every time the littlest thing happens, Walt is just one step from his family

Clifford is a hilarious mess of a movie. Plus it features Mary Steenburgen… she's so underratedly hot!

Summer Movie Preview Part 2
My thoughts:

Even though some of you seem to have anime pegged as some kind of "big-eyed schoolgirls getting raped by tentacle monsters" medium, I must go on record as saying I've never seen tentacle rape in any of the anime that I've watched, and I've been a fairly avid viewer of the genre since 1998.

God I hated Dead Leaves… thanks for reminding me of that.

Great movie…
Millennium Actress is a film I've only seen once and will never revisit. I loved the film so much, that I don't want repeated viewings to distort my initial image of it in any way. I've said before that it's one of the few films to make me stand up and cheer for the protagonist.

The Variable
So it seems the spoiler I accidentally read on some website last week was correct. Goodbye Daniel Faraday, ye will be missed.

So did you tell your gf that the aforementioned scene was edited to look that way? Y'see… documentary filmmakers typically only want you to see what they see.

Was I…?
Was I the only one who rooted against Steve Wiebe? The guy is such a sad sack. In contrast, Billy is fun, talks trash, has a hot trophy wife, and lives "the dream." I know Billy has some nefarious cronies, but I'm able to look past that because Billy is such a cool guy. Wiebe is just a schmo.

Jelly Belly Pudding
I saw these on super mega clearance at a local Walgreens last week. I think they were going for like 16 cents or some shit. Have you had them at the AV club offices for a while?

Opening Acts
This gives me an idea for an AV club inventory.

Foxx's Oscar
I still contend that Foxx shouldn't have won that Oscar back in early '05 for Ray. DiCaprio's performance as Howard Hughes was much more deserving, and the film was bigger in scope, better in direction, and wider in ambition. The Aviator is an underrated modern classic and DiCaprio was robbed in what

"Better Call Saul"
Another fantastic episode.

This episode
I really enjoyed it on the whole and I felt there were a lot of great belly laughs. I also enjoyed competent Michael Scott during the negotiations.

Sad moment for me…
Ending of Children of Men… I lost it.

The More You Ignore Me…
…is probably his strongest single and an excellent pop/rock song all around. I think I'm gonna go listen to it now…

Though "Margaritaville" was obviously the best episode of this arc, "Fatbeard" wasn't far behind. Another great Cartman-centric episode is always welcome. Great lines from Butters tonight as well. Also, I love how Butters is always the one not wearing a shirt (see the Indiana Jones episode from last season).

I loved Frost/Nixon. I actually thought Sheen should have been nominated for Best Actor and Langella for Supporting Actor. But whatev.. Langella would have still lost to Ledger anyway.

Frost/Nixon
Frost/Nixon was my choice for best picture of '08. Excellent film all around.
