Agreed on the hilarity of Badger. Sad thing is, there are plenty of dopes out there who are exactly like Badger.

Negro y Azul
At first I hated the mariachi song, but then it grew on me and I loved it.

The Japanese seem to have a problem with ending things as a whole, not just Miyazaki. Pretty much every anime series or movie ever has an underwhelming if not somewhat disappointing ending.

Also a debunk… I saw Mononoke first, but Laputa is my favorite.

Spirited Away
I love a lot of the scenes in this movie, such as the disgusting, waste and trash ridden god being cleaned by Chihiro while others look on in amazement. I absolutely love a lot of the set pieces and imagery in this movie as well. But on the whole, I can't help but feel some disappointment towards

Not reading through all the comments, so bare with me…
…what exactly is the significance of Farraday showing up at the end? Did Farraday not return back to 1977 with the rest of them? I thought he did, but just wasn't featured or something. Did staying with Charlotte's corpse back in "This Place is Death" not send him

Love love love this guy…
"Oh I'll stay until Spamelot closes … or until Clay Aiken leaves the show!"

Yeah. Plus he was an ex-military guy so I figure that plays into it as well. I'm sure had a garage or basement weight set or something. I just never saw it because I didn't go into the garage or basement, thank god.

I've never been able to sit thru all of V For Vendetta. I just can't take it. Something about it is so hammy and cheap-looking to me, like an off-Broadway play version of a Hollywood movie. It doesn't help that I hate the looking of that fucking mask.

Being completely ignorant of meth (it must not be prevalent where I live… or I'm just naive I guess) why exactly does it rot your teeth? Can someone explain to me like I'm a third grader please?

Oh it happened… it happened to me. But for the poor girl, it happened every day. Thankfully I only had to endure it twice.

The girl's parents were fairly young (in their mid-30s) when I dated her. They were probably ten to fifteen years younger than the rest of our parents at the time.

ZING!

Agreed on the backstory. I got too much into the Walt/Skyler drama to think about that part again. I wonder what happened that made Walt walk out on Gretchen all those years ago.

Peekaboo
Not a great episode, but very good imo.

Agreed. Millennium Actress is an amazing film that goes underapprecated even by the anime crowd. I'm looking forward to reading its NCC entry.

I've always felt that Spirited Away was more than a tad overrated. I think people look at it fondly because it was one of the first Japanese anime films to get a big push from a major studio in the west. Oh, and it just happened to be released during one of the first years of the animated Oscar award.

I mentioned in another post on this thread that Svankmajer also made claymation fiilms about living in communist eastern Europe. So I like what you had to say about eastern Europe in regards to this film.

Amazing
I'm a huge fan of stop motion and Svanmajer (along with Ray Harryhausen) is a hero to me. Alice is a great film too. I remember watching it at a very young age (maybe 7 or 8) and being terrified by the imagery. I also remember how jarringly different it was from another version of Alice in Wonderland I had

Tonight's Lost
Great episode!
