One of their old songs consists nearly entirely of these lines: Austin Powers/Ace Ventura, you ain't nothing but five years old, and what do you think you're doing?

I think season 7 will hold up as the best since 3.

I don't go to the movies much anymore but I wanted to see Spring Breakers with a crowd. I had very mixed feelings on the movie (as I expected) but the audience did not disappoint. Half of the crowd HATED it. There were two teenagers in my aisle accompanied by what I assume was their father and I was constantly looking

Alec Baldwin's podcast had Letterman and Lorne. The Letterman one is FANTASTIC.

@avclub-bd639b876c6a37363c08ea18cbcfe0c4:disqus  I read it on my birthday, tipsy, on a train ride to go meet my friends. I remember laughing quite a bit. I recommend similar circumstances.

@avclub-14ab3610488873ae27b32947a76e6bd1:disqus  Heard a podcast on Batman and Robin recently and someone made a good point: Jim Carrey is the only reason Forever worked to the small degree it did. Batman and Robin is pretty much exactly the same without a comedian to make the campy shit funny.

I reread the Dark Knight sequel two years ago and enjoyed it much more than I did when it first came out. There's lots of nifty ideas everywhere, even if it's disjointed and some of the art is rushed.

I have actively avoided that. Anyone who reads comics knew that Miller had gone insane by that point and could tell you that Sin City's asthetics do not mesh with the character at all.

I saw that in the theatre with a group of girls. The endless costume changes embarrassed me. I did not feel even slightly titilated.

I thought the Hurwitz one was pretty decent. The Larry and Will episodes are clearly the best so far.

I'm having trouble distinguishing between what is downloaded already and what isn't currently on my ipod that I have not heard.

@avclub-29501df08e5d9ae59e432e4f188d3735:disqus I totally agree. And you're one of the few reg  commentators here I think is not a troll. I just figure at some point film critics could come to the same point yeah? Weird funny randomness that doesn't make a narrative is ok sometimes.

@avclub-29501df08e5d9ae59e432e4f188d3735:disqus Not that I thing that any of those flicks deserved a win but I agree with your assesment.

@Chryso42:disqus  Someone else quoted the Garfield review, not me.

@avclub-29501df08e5d9ae59e432e4f188d3735:disqus   I can't really confirm your theory about Trading Places, but I would be willing to bet that a good amount of Blues Brothers press was not too positive.

I'm not saying it's a perfect film. But saying it's coated in an irony bubble that's trying too hard not to actually be funny is ridiculous and completely at odds with what they were doing and what didn't work (or did).

Also: Ebert didn't have cable? A celeb of that size, pun not intended?
