I hate hate hated the first Austin Powers. I didn't bother watching the rest. But, then, I hated Shrek and So I Married an Axe Murderer as well.

I really enjoy the show.
Part 2 was, indeed, godawful. I saw it in the theater with my best friend in high school when we were ditching class one day. We were the only ones in the theater. The part that really slayed us was when the "hero" was in the boathouse or whatever it was with the love interest and they're kissing and all of a…
@Dick Rockhard - That is an apt and eloquent description of Eyes Without a Face. I'm impressed!
Martin Donovan should definitely get more work. He's wonderful. I love his work with Hal Hartley. Alas, I have suffered through some shit movies just because Martin Donovan was involved.
@Crackity Jones - Haha, that almost sounds credible.
I love, Love, LOVE Eyes Without a Face.
That's one of the things I love about living in L.A., they screen some enormously cool older movies at the Egyptian Theatre, the Cinerama Dome, the Director's Guild, etc. I've gotten to see Lawrence of Arabia on the "giant big screen" a handful of times. I once invited a friend to see Lawrence of Arabia at the…
@Unkle Martin
I, too, laughed when they were "wowing" over Julia Roberts in Ocean's 11. It made NO sense.
Here are a couple pictures I cut out from the Daily News or L.A. Times back in 93 when they did a piece on Natasha Richardson and Liam Neeson starring together on stage in New York in Anna Christie. I believe that is when they fell in love. I love the picture of the two of them, it's just so beautiful and raw and…
Timecop = Guilty Pleasure.
Hm, I don't know, I always thought Anne was sexier than that. I'm not sure who I would cast.
Thanks, ba. He's a handful, but I absolutely adore him.
My friend and I paid to see a weird double feature of Mad Love (starring Drew Barrymore and Chris O'Donnell) and Johnny Mnemonic at the now defunct Peppertree Theatre in Northridge, CA. We watched all of the truly awful Mad Love and ended up walking out on Johnny Mnemonic. That should give you an idea of just how…
I love the show. There are certainly plenty of misses, but I think they're pretty funny guys and I LOVE their song "Dinosaur Rap". "You're welcome, internet!" I (heart) Trevor Moore. And no, I'm not on their payroll.
Sugar, Sugar by The Archies. Huh.
My cat can fetch. Sadly, his owner cannot throw, nor film with one hand without a pukey-shaky cam effect. http://tinyurl.com/avs373
Paprika is wonderful. Perfect Blue is pretty incredible, and Millenium Actress is filled with such yearning, it just about killed me (in a good way), but I think Paprika is the most, well, fun.
Why I Hate Saturn
I was thrilled to see Kyle Baker's Why I Hate Saturn on this list. It's one of my all time favorite books. If you haven't read it, I urge you to do so. It's absolutely wonderful. "I started getting depressed. Probably the late hour and the silence. I decided some music would cheer me up. Boy,…
