My thoughts exactly. Didn't they learn from that experience? Apparently not.

Yes, I thought Dillon was very good, too.

I hated Once Upon a Time in Mexico. That is all.

I'm giving Dollhouse one more episode, then I'm throwing in the towel. I thought the pilot was poop.

I LOVE Dog Soldiers!!!

Timothy Olyphant's sports report was my favorite part of Indie 103.1. His rapport with Joe Escalante was great. I loved it when Timothy would say, "You know, Joe, we should do this live." and Joe would say, "This is live." I'll miss it.

Fifth wheel
I love you, A.V. Club, but it's "fifth wheel", not "third wheel".

Taran Wanderer! Awesome. The Lloyd Alexander series still holds up. I recently read it again, at the ripe old age of 38, and enjoyed the hell out of it. OK, back to your regularly scheduled thread.

Gabriel Macht
What a shame. I think Gabriel Macht is enormously talented. I saw him on stage in Turnaround and he was wonderful. I thought he was excellent in A Love Song for Bobby Long, as well. I'd love to see him get more work and I'm sad to hear he doesn't shine in The Spirit.

Thank you, Nathan
I've always been curious about this one. Now, it's at the top of my Netflix queue.

Ooh, I second the vote for Book vs. Film. That's a great idea.

If you read Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH, you'd see how superior it was to the film in every way. The film was a travesty. That is all.

I LOVE The Fountain. It completely blew me away, even more the second time I saw it. As Murray says, at the very least, the cinematography and score should have been nominated for Oscars. The special effects, too. It was gorgeous and unique. And I thought Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz were magnificent.

Talk about damning with faint praise.

I'm taking my mom to see Tangerine Dream at UCLA's Royce Hall tomorrow night.

After seeing the film Watching the Detectives, I don't think I'll ever be able to endure another film featuring video store employees again.

Mira Sorvino was dreadful in The Replacement Killers. If that wasn't enough to kill her career, WiseGirls, that piece of poo she made with Mariah Carey, certainly was.

Timothy Olyphant is GREAT and I agree, he's hilarious on indie 103.1's sports report. It's available on their website.

The Smothers Brothers on tour
Yep, they're touring. I've seen them twice over the last few years. I'm seeing them again in February. They are still great.

Sounds interesting
I'm adding it to my list. Thanks!
