Moved to Memphis in January (actually Mem during the week and Chicago weekends) and checking out Stax soon. It's about 10 mins. from my apartment in a shit neighborhood, but cool looking building and the soul museum is right next door. Any advice from folks who have visited?
PS - I've been to Sun Records - very cool.

"Tuppence" as in two pence. Or is Toppins a type of sex person?

The ending of SFU was about as perfect as it gets.

That was a charmingly dorky great joke. Nice.

I cannot remember if I posted this last week:
- Don Julio reposado
- San Pellegrino grapefruit (green cans are not lime, they are grapefruit!)
- Club soda (cuts the sweetness of the SP soda)
- juice of 1/4 to 1/2 lime
Over lots of crushed ice. Make another immediately - the first one goes in 3-5 mins. on a hot day

@avclub-457eb7d00feeb81f6d3d5b103e799fa1:disqus is typically amazing, but I got an extra chuckle out of this one - the combination drinking thread relevancy and the guitar tech dork out - just great stuff. Thanks!

good luck and make sure one of you has less than 10 drinks in case the kids wake up!

Go to Target with $7 - $10 and buy a cheap alarm clock? That's the way we did it before Steve Jobs came along.
(seriously, you don't want to miss vacation train!)

Excellent work you two.

New Am is great, but I think that's a "starter' gin cause it doesn't have a ton of flavour. I love it though. Also, totally let the old guy thing go. I'm sure he meant no harm.

I've been having Don Julio Reposado with grapefruit San Pelligrino, club soda (cuts the sweetness down), fresh lime juice, over crushed ice. Hola Summer.

Chicagoland in the 80s and f*g was primarily a synonym for calling another guy a sissy, weakling, pussy. Found out about the derogatory homosexual later. Not defending it at all, just some context

Jay cutler just named his kid Jaxon. Yechhh.

I think the reviewer has this totally wrong. The dad was not avoiding the kid. He was just making bad choices career vs kid.

I love that there are 5 urban definitions of hot pocketing, each one humorous

That's disgusting, but I can't help but admire the construction of that (I think pretty old) joke. Well played, ass wipe!

Bonham's drumming on Fool in the Rain is hugely overlooked, and I'm not counting the carnival-like middle part. The way he creates a mood in that song is awesome. In a different vein, same goes for All of My Love

I LOVE that Louie in the car with his kids bit. I've done very nearly the same thing, perhaps even to "Who Are You" with my kids in the car when they were little. And I love Who Are You.
