Her error was in presenting her criticisms in a method designed to be burdensome on the media and the community she was analyzing. The issues she brings up are cogent, her methods are simply flawed and, again, designed more for notoriety than to contribute to the field.

On one hand her methods get feminism in media more mainstream attention. On the other hand her flawed methods and fame-chasing essentially alienate a good chunk of people that would otherwise agree with the mistreatment/representation of women in games.

I really hate that Sarkeesian is the face of academic feminist criticism of media and technology. There are much better critics out there that tackle feminist issues. They simply don't surround themselves with controversy like she does, and they're not constantly parroting the work of their academic forbears.
