I probably should just be used to it by now. I made the choice to stick with Moffat's era and at this point it's very clear what he's good at and what he's bad at. Still I can't help feeling disappointed.

I don't think we'll be seeing a new type of companion or dynamic until we get a new showrunner. I'm not sure if Moffat is able to write a different type and I'm positive he's not interested.

That's really disappointing. Adding the Mother as a character and getting rid of the annoying filler Ted relationships could breathe new life into the show. What are they afraid of? If season 9 is the end they have nothing to lose.
