I'm now over halfway through Cormac McCarthy's Cities of the Plain.  The story seems a lot more cohesive than The Crossing was (which was great, but felt like several short stories put together), although at this point it lacks the great monologues that The Crossing also had.  The story is really building to the point

First and foremost, I went to what might possibly be in my top five concerts of all time:  I saw Heartless Bastards in concert for a (more or less) hometown crowd in Newport, KY (which is basically Cincinnati for those who don't know) Friday night.  Really
just an awesome, awesome show.  Erika's vocals were downright

And if you punch them square in the chest, they evaporate.

Man, if she has a problem with a nineteen minute song, she really must have hated last year's Swans album.

I love both Radiohead and Arcade Fire, yet find only two Animal Collective albums to be tolerable, at best.  And their most recent one was just terrible.

Irish whiskey.

I saw them on their tour for "Brothers", which was a good show, but it didn't make me want to shell out the cash for their expensive arena tour with the Arctic Monkeys a hear and a half later.  The performance wasn't that memorable.

See, when I watched it I thought the actor playing James did such a terrible job of pretending to play guitar that it took me out of the whole scene.

I love bison burgers.  Best meal of my life was on a buffalo ranch in Utah.  Buffalo burgers, buffalo meatloaf, buffalo chili.  Mmmmm.

I didn't think they were anything special.  Now bison, on the other hand, is delicious.

I'm genuinely disappointed they might get rid of FOX Soccer channel.  And I don't even have cable.

Okay, you send me your share of the money.  I'll take care of the rest, and send it to you once I finish.  Promise.

Not saying he came about it legally, but Pitchfork has been streaming it for at least a week.

Especially if you've been there live to see them play it, because that is just pure joy.

Agreed, I was surprised not to see it.

Good Lord, that man's resume is just fantastic. That he hasn't won before is ridiculous.

Eh, yeah I was too lazy too look it up, and for some reason I was thinking it was longer than two years ago.  I should have known it was 2010.

Same story when one of the recent Pixar films (TS3?) was nominated for both Best Picture and Best Animated Film several years ago.
