I'll second the defense of DotU as a quality album.

I agree, I couldn't help but think that certain passages in Campaign Trail—especially some of HST's closing remarks at the end—were still very relevant to politics today.

I read The Alchemist just out of college, and I don't remember being that impressed.  I had a few people tell me it was great, but I got the impression that it was one of those books that can be really good if you read it at the right time in your life; likely somewhere in the junior high to early college years.

Saw Raiders of the Lost Ark in Imax last week.  Other than some bluriness in spots I thought it came out well.  It was fun to see a movie like that on the big screen for the first time.

Finally finished Tropic of Cancer and I'm glad to be done with it.  Miller's prose is good, although there were a number of sections

Yep, I thought the same thing.  Looked pretty good except for a few blurry shots.  As someone else said, the sound was impressive as well.

I've only seen the first 7 or so episodes of Cowboy Bebop, but I've been planning on watching the whole series and movie this year (been waiting while I finished Deadwood).  If I get through the last four Deadwood episodes in the next week, maybe I'll marathon Bebop while the wife has to work all of next weekend.

Yeah I went through the whole first season of Girls in two sittings.  Really easy to watch all in a row.

I think you could say the same thing about most non-musicians as well.

I am an unabashed Lanegan fan.  I think some of his solo output is even better than anything the Trees released.  Then you have his numerous great collaborations with Isobel Campbell, the Soulsavers, the Twilight Singers, and his stint in QOTSA, and even the Gutter Twins.  The man's trackrecord is phenomenal.
