Analog clocks aren't some complicated, mystical language that can't be learned well after age 10. I'm sure the kids these days will learn to read an analog clock/watch if and when it becomes necessary.

At some point in our childhoods my brother and I determined that there were such things as long minutes and short minutes. Somehow whenever we were playing legos they were short minutes, but when we had to practice piano our mother was clearly keeping time in long minutes.
