But in the season premiere, we see his wedding gift to Robin was the framed picture of the gang from the title sequence. Even if he had the locket in his possession, which we now know he didn't, he thought better of it.

It's not 1:1, but it informs why now is the perfect time for them to finally meet. Ted's basically been subconsciously self-sabotaging his relationships because of Robin and the Mother basically checked herself out of the dating game entirely. Had they met even two years earlier, it wouldn't have worked because Ted

They do. He talked about how she was a permanent fixture in their childhood drawings.

Alyson Hannigan was way more into the prospect of making out with herself than she was on Buffy. I guess things change when you get older.

I think the idea is that there will always be at least a little lingering affection, both for Robin and Max. Ted's story is about the process of letting Robin go and opening himself up to someone else, and the Mother's story last week paralleled that.

I'll take a guess at which ones you may not remember. Allow me to help!

Those big monologues have always been Radnor's thing on this show. I think Bays and Thomas once said that it was his ability to sell the "You can't tell someone you love them on the first date, but it sucks that you can't" speech from the pilot that got him the part.

The problem with Zoe was that she and Ted were never, ever on the same page about anything. They met as enemies, and the conflict that made them enemies in the first place was still there when they started dating. Even with Karen, the implication is there that the two of them were at least a little compatible at one

Even though she was on the show, and referred to by name, just last week.

What was the deal with that girl Turtle from that one show in the 90s? Was she their sister? Or some kind of love interest? If Love interest, there was definitely some Turtle make outs happening. DON'T BE NAIVE! CONFRONT THE TRUTH!

Which is why I think the original movie is the purest form of what TMNT can be. To me, it's a perfect hybrid of the dark original intent of the comics and lighter version the cartoon presented.

And that would matter… why? Vanilla fucking Ice recorded a song and did an actual dance number in one of the old movies that we all hold so dear. How would this be any different?

Lisa joined the team to make a point about girls wanting to play football, then immediately quit when it turned out there were already a few girls on the team.

I really like that, the first time we meet him as Bruce Wayne, Vicki and Knox don't recognize him. The richest, most famous man in the city, and two seemingly competent journalists don't know what he looks like even though they're at his house specifically looking for him.

Fan casting speculation is always fun for a little while, but fanbases tend to eventually rally around really predictable choices, and they completely lose their shit as soon as someone unexpected gets the part. It's not so much rage that Eisenberg was cast, but pretty transparent whining about Cranston NOT being cast.

It's also weirdly in line with an idea DC's clearly been pursuing for a while. They had Jay Baruchel lined up to play Max Lord in the scrapped Justice League movie a few years back.

I'm all for interesting casting choices in these types of movies. Seeing a choice as seemingly out-of-left-field as Jesse Eisenberg actually makes me more excited for the movie.

Do opening credits count? Skyfall last year. And "Falling Slowly" and "The Weary Kind" are both pretty integral to the movies they're in.

That movie came out a year before I was born, but it's still one of my favorites. You don't have to have seen a movie in its original theatrical run to like it.

I agree. That's why I didn't name her. In fairness, though, the Daily Planet didn't really have a whole lot to do with that movie anyway. Maybe they'll make her a more integral presence in the next one, if they can squeeze in some Jenny scenes between all the Batmans and Wonder Womans.
