it is terrible that he is doing that instead of - I don't know - sitting around being snarky on the internet.

yeah, but the Heather Graham episodes gave us "People are bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling".
Exactly, BNB, Dwight and Steve are still making interesting music, but Travis kinda fell off a cliff sometime around one of those Hero songs ….
@ doudou … I disagree. I think they can be a lot more nerdy and not lose their audience. The trick is that the references have to come in the context of jokes and character interactions that stand by themselves. Then, if one gets the reference, it is like a little extra treat.
I didn't get the whole stage fright thing. It seems to me that Sheldon is so monumentally confident that he would get up there and talk for three hours and be surprised if people were not enthralled.
They are ALL dicks. It's a fairly normal trope in sitcoms that you wouldn't actually want to hang out with most of the people.
Well, i would go for Hendrix and the Monkees for most ill-advised double bill ever, but your story …. well, that's a damn fine night sir.
Haha …. EXACTLY the same story. I was in the navy and only listening to rock, although I grew up with country. Then, I got this, Randy Travis' Storms of Life and Steve Earle's Guitar Town all at around the same time. That was a great year.
Seconded on Pete. His playing on Michelle Shocked's first album was phenomenal also.
If there was a way might be my favorite song by him…that tremelo guitar and the B-3 sound.
Good call guys. He is a really underrated lyricist. And, soybomb, I LOVE the way he sings drop dead in that line ….
All I thought of when Alterna-sawyer got the TV dinner out was the AV Club list of cliches that appeared awhile back and one of the writers saying how he or she was sick to death of TV dinners being a shorthand for loneliness.
CmdrObvious wins the internet!
First of all, no one person pilots a sub …. it takes a crew, even on a small sub like that, and all of them have to know what they are doing. maybe he can make it move, but can he keep it level? Can he not run it into a seamount? Can he navigate, run sonar, control ballast. It's ludicrous.
Decoration Day! But really, you can't go wrong with any of them.
I've been to about four shows in the last few years and most of them were mostly hipster-orientated. Don't get me wrong, the people they sing about love them when they hear them, but they don't listen to the kind of radio or go to the kind of web-sites to hear them.
I think he is setting himself up for disappointment if he does get the gig. I get the distinct impression that he thinks he can change the show and male it a bit more representative of better music. That's not going to happen. It is always going to be about marketability first and music second.
Agreed on XTC … I got into them a bit late but listened to them incessantly for years once I did.
I agree that Community is on quite a run and Modern Family is close. In fact, I'm not sure i could choose between them. Both brilliant.
I just don't understand the switchin' scene. I just saw someone being hurt for no good reason and it just wasn't funny to me.
