I'm a music photographer and photographed both at different venues recently and TFF was one of the better surprises I've had. Hall and Oates were OK, about what you would expect, but TFF really put on a great show.

Same here. Saw him in Knoxville, at the show that is on Glitter and Doom. On the Nickel and Innocent were great. But, Lucinda! I really didnt expect to hear it and he opened with it, standing on a big circle, stamping his foot with powder flying everywhere. Mindblowing.

seen about 25 Springsteen shows (and going to see him in Naples in May) and I think there has been at least one moment like this article describes at every show. he is absolutely unparalleled in that regard.

saw Faith No More at the Boathouse in Norfolk in 89 or so. They tore it up and they were the first band I ever saw really nail the ironic cover. as you say, they did right stuff, a bit of it, and Nestlé and ended with War Pigs. When they came out for their final encore and did that perfect straight version of Easy,

NIN's entire first tour (opening for Peter Murphy and JMC, then solo - at least I think it was first) was incredible. Everyone had ony heard Pretty Hate Machine and went expecting that. The onslaught of noisy guitars and leather that followed was mind blowing. Saw them at a place called the Peppermint Beach Club in

I am a music photographer and I know MANY a musician/waiter with a $5000 instrument. Many.

This was a big problem. RJ bent over backwards to point out that the Seanchan stopped violence and improved the economy of the areas they conquered. Rand said something in this book about seeing how Tuon really cared about the people under her rule. But, it's all based on something monstrous and evil and basing a

In defense of the stance, although I agree it is a delightfully horrid cover: (a) the guy holding it is a master swordsman who constantly practices forms, which I picture as martial art-ish and could involve that and (b) it's not really a sword but a powerful artifact that increases his power and he might very well

And when it flooded in 2010 and they moved the Opry back to the Ryman, I really hoped they would take the opportunity to stay. Every musician I know that has played both prefers the Ryman. I've seen a lot of shows in both and prefer the Ryman. But, money always wins out. Pity. the Ryman is everything that is right

I am sure that must be a sly little reference to the former prime minister of Italy, Berlusconi, who met Obama and said pretty much the exact same thing

I never liked it much either. Then, I saw Boutte do it at one of his regular gigs at d.b.a. and seeing it live really opened it up for me. Not my favorite song by any means, but it has more meaning for me now (also cuz I love the show) and it makes me happy to here it.

I am glad you posted this just for the quality of the replies, but I feel compelled to point out that bob1010101001 below you was more eloquent and made your point better in four words then you did in four paragraphs: "over-reaching authenticity porn"

Yep. The places they played round here throw people out for requesting "Wagon Wheel." Not a fratboy band at all.

Except for some obnoxiously loud crowd noise, Live Volume 3 is a great place to sample and Live Volume 2 gives a good picture of the early, rowdier shows.
