More love for the Key to Time season! Yay!

Oh yes! And Pat Troughton particularly exemplifies this, often sneaking off just as the clean-up began. "The Ice Warriors" comes to mind.

I often wonder if we would've gotten a proper Mel introduction story with the first story of season 24 had Colin Baker been allowed to stay.

The Matrix stuff is quite sublime, indeed… mainly the Victoriana stuff, of course. But, it's all a shiny bauble that helps distract from the inept story telling.

I know it tends not to be a fan favorite (or anyone's favorite), but I simply ADORE "The Pirate Planet." In fact, I generally adore all of season 16. (I know, know… go ahead and point out "Kroll" now.)

If there's anything to say about the Sixth Doctor's run, it's that Colin Baker is an absolutely fantastic actor who could've been a really top-notch Doctor, but whose opportunities were squandered by horrible, horrible creative decisions.

Even still. E and F are a semitone apart, so I'm not sure why they would think screaming and F would blend well with the key of E, especially since E minor has 1 sharp in it (F sharp), so the harmonies would just get crunchier and crunchier with Mel's F.

Yes. Planet of Fire is horrible. But, I put Enlightenment and Frontios in the "phenomenally well done" category.

I'm forgetting the details, but didn't she somehow cause a time storm or something at her school?

Oh yes! That actually makes perfect sense, those two.

I believe if you listen to the season 23 theme again, it's actually in the key of E minor. :P

I really want to buy the Trial of a Time Lord box set if only for the extras. But I can't justify the purchase until I've filled my collection with practically everything else first.

Yes. It would sort of be like the Doctor suddenly traveling with Bernadette Peters.

Yes. It aways seems that when they get it right (Kinda, Snakedance, Caves of Androzani, Remembrance of the Daleks), they get it phenomenally right. But when they get it wrong (Time-Flight, Attack of the Cybermen, Silver Nemesis, Battlefield) they unfortunately get it phenomenally wrong, as if there's no ability for

Well, some eras are more "horror-ish" than others, seasons 13-14 in particular, but I take your point. "Terror of the Vervoids" is horror not.

I vote for Paradise Towers or Happiness Patrol.

Oh no, no… I disagree there. Android Invasion may not be very good, but it is by no means in the same class as Monster of Peladon or Planet of the Daleks.

Oh yes! The Doctor saves the universe by, er, unplugging a plug.

The was mid-era stuff, though, not end-of-era stuff.

Oh I understand completely. But you know how we geeks are, always trying to play devil's advocate at the drop of a hat, splitting microscopic hairs just to try to make our point! :)
