That movie was full of ridiculously awesome moments, but I liked about a minute before that, when you see the contrast between Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsbourg's anticipation in the tent.

It doesn't even have to be accurate. Chevy Chase pretty much destroyed Gerald Ford's political career by turning a pretty boring president into a series of pratfalls.
Agreed. I get why generally stable, normal writers and performers are who you want working for your very expensive TV sketch show, but the comedy should never have the same vibe. Since SNL is such an institution, it's lost a lot of the experimentation that pushes sketches into interesting places.
There's not a single Black Keys song that wouldn't work perfectly over the opening montage of a romantic comedy, which is so faint it doesn't even qualify as praise.
Seriously? I loved this episode but I do agree it's felt pretty up and down. I think it's a fair assessment - and it doesn't mean the season was terrible, just that there were just as many episodes that didn't quite land as there were brilliant ones. I haven't agreed with every detail of every review but the gut…
Yeah I've always said it as "Skoogle." And good call on the expressway - that stupid road is the worst fucking way to get anywhere. When they are specific about regional shit like that and the "Pewcanoes" I get a huge kick out of it.

See, I read Chaos Theory the opposite way. Since they never *really* kiss/argue/whatever, I figured that was a little minuature hint of what would be playing out over the rest of the season. But since they haven't really addressed it again, now I'm not sure. They just had an Annie episode and Jeff had maybe three…
Megan Ganz is clearly the Harmon Whisperer and for that I thank and respect her. That cannot be an easy right-hand-man job.
I know Jim Rash has deserved his place in the main cast for ages, and I'm thrilled he's got it, but this was an astounding chance for the writers to do something no one has seen from the show - an episode that was inhabited a truly auxillary character. Dean Pelton is a vital part of the ensemble, especially as the…
I wish I'd liked that one, since it's really the only episode I can think of where Shirley is truly the hero of the A-plot, but even its fun extension of the cult like appreciation for self-referencing films really does fall flat.
Holy shit, do I detect a reference to an excellent and random Britanick video with Danny Pudi? I think I do.
My major criticism of the film - which I do love - is that the passage of time directly contradicts the style and tone. The film has this amazingly propulsive feeling, as though everything is happening extremely quickly and urgently, while I feel each of the seven evil ex fights and Scott and Ramona's increasing lack…
I can't watch any of them because my goddamn COMPUTER BROKE a few days ago so I have to post this from a fucking LIBRARY!
Excellent idea. I angrily posted a comment myself in the form of a letter; maybe I'll edit it to sound more professional and email it over as well. Can't imagine this will do too much but perhaps then NBC will be clearer what they want from the fans since they know we're listening (and obviously just watching the show…
Yeah the one thing in all of this that is pretty cool is that Up All Night has graduated to being one of the Thursday shows, which I at least think it's earned. However, the fact that it royally fucks with everything else is an unfair casualty.
They say that's what kept Chuck alive all of these years. Six seasons of Community sounds like a fair exchange for buying some random shitty products.
Dear NBC:
This is kismet. Just a little while ago, I read somewhere (possibly in the comments here) that all of "Cheers" was up on Netflix Instant. I knew it was a good show, and I've seen episodes here and there, but watching just the pilot was one of those moments (akin to discovering the "Bob Newhart Show" or "Spaced") where…
I like this show. It's smart, reasonably pleasant, well-observed relationship, some outsized comic moments - but instead of pushing itself into histrionic territory always staying pretty low-key. It feels like a half-hour dramady, though, not a sitcom.
