Well shit, that just opens up a whole other can of worms. What does that leave? The "Not Country Hall of Fame"?
In that case, there are horrible, horrible omissions. More than they could ever catch up with at the rate they are inducting new artists.

Ok - worst or least appropriate? I don't get Gladys Knight and the Pips. Not rock, and not really influential to rock as far as I can tell.

I just double-checked, and there are two actual metal bands in the HoF: Black Sabbath and Metallica.

Good luck, metal acts.

Yeah, they finally re-embraced it because so many of their fans expected it.

Unfortunately, borrowed lyrics mar Auf Weidershen for me.
It happens a couple of time in their catalog. I don't know if it's supposed to be homage or if Nielson thinks they've passed in to common usage as idiom.

Man, good question. Too often it feels like the Record Sales Hall of Fame, but that's just because it's hard to quantify the influence a musician or band has had.

It was my gateway album, but I found the first three had better staying power with me.

Steve Miller Band < The Cars for sure, but if you look at the list of previous inductees, you'll see better targets for your anger. Gladys Knight and the Pips come to mind, but you'll have your own favorite.

Stop This Game.

They did a cover story in 1997 called "Women in Rock". You might assume the cover would feature Bjork or Sleater Kinney or some Lilith Fair acts. Nope.

If you read the list of inductees - and the order in which they were inducted - you will have fits. Wenner gave himself a lifetime achievement award before he got around to any of these guys.

Great song, and a pain in the neck to get -at least until Sex, America,Cheap Trick came out.

A song Cheap trick tried to distance themselves from for about twenty years.

Well it's about time. The HoF has been infamously cliquish, but it seems to be improving. I'm not sure who the biggest remaining snub is, but I think Duran Duran are underrated.

I like that it sounds dated. No other Christmas song sounds like it's from that era. Everything else sounds like 50's pop or 90's R&B.

Same here. Cheers me up every time.

They're as good as they ever were. That's not a veiled insult.

It never even occurred to me that there might be CGI, so it must be pretty good.

I'm not sure when they got to this particular characterization of her, but it is a lot fun. It gave me one of the few decent chuckles there is to have from DC in a while:
