Is it sick that I want to talk you out of it? As if I have the time or persuasiveness to sway the millions of people who are going to help make a sequel happen. Half of them probably only speak Cantonese.

I was used to standard slasher movies when this came out, and I remember finding the surrealism and unannounced transitions from the waking world into someone's dreams very off-putting to my very young mind. The cheapness and so-so acting only added to the sense of unreal. Rewatching it recently was similar to what

Years and years ago, a coworker of mine owned a red and black striped sweater. Every time he'd enter my peripheral vision, I'd jump a little. I don't think he noticed.

Hans Moleman? Certainly.

Yup. Would have fit into the story perfectly, without too much more narrative baggage.

Ugh. Awful, but in the context of such a bad movie it hardly stands out.

A guy has to have some faith in people, right?

I prefer to think that a lot of the folks who responded badly to Jordan's casting weren't racist, but were just too emotionally stunted to handle the studio not slavishly adhering to their childhood memories.

I hear you, but with their insistence on including him in this movie, how could that much backstory have fit, along with the team's origin? I wish they had taken this first film to establish the FF, had them fight some generic menace, then in the next film put in the required time to introduce something as high

A write up of Dio that doesn't include him coordinating the Hear'n Aid album for African famine relief seems incomplete. If we are trying to gauge his influence, his ability to pull together so many musicians (and Ted Nugent) for the session should be considered.

Yes. You are correct. Foxx does give me pause though.

To me this assumes a tidy character arc that only exists in fiction. It's not so much that a real life person can't find themselves in situations that echo past experiences - it's that the viewer of a fictional character is aware of the conventions of the medium and questions the decisions made by the writers.

"Keep your eyes peeled for future coverage of metal, punk, and hardcore releases in The A.V. Club’s regular music section."

Well, if it freezes okay, I'm onboard for making it myself. Now to find the right recipe…

Maybe too late to the thread to get much response, but here I go:

Funny, yes, but at this point I watch every episode looking for some indication that their relationship is inching toward something sustainable. If it stays as it is, Amy is left frustrated and eventually resentful. If it progresses too rapidly it would run contrary to what we know about Sheldon. His growth has been
