I really didn't think this version of Silence staked up well against the original. The central performances didn't feel that moving and everything seemed far too overwrought. Not a success for me, and hard to understand what Scorsese felt he was adding with his version.

I was recently stuck in London with no way to travel home due to storms and my girlfriend had to go into work. Spent the day making a great Cottage Pie for tea and watched The Princess Bride 4 times. That was a good day.

To be fair, if aliens first landed in Little Hulton it ain't a surprise they haven't been back.

I swear to god, if Following has a flashback episode with childhood Kevin Bacon pushing boxes around a military base I'll be there in a second…

If nothing else, we can be glad that steaming pile of commercial shite was so bad you missed that it was advertising bland corporate mouth-hole gum and not the bland, corporate coffee-hellhole it was set in ;)

I'm always disappointed that the 5 year plan for Babylon 5 always gets discussed and yet no one ever mentioning the incredible 10 year plan that 'Murder She Wrote' developed… no that's some subtle story arc development!

Don't know if anyone else said this but I'd make the point of not watching 'In the Beginning' with a lot more force. Over the years I've known a few people decide to watch the show who stumbled across the TV movie first.

Are people kind of criticising this for including obscure TV and movies that they can't imagine anyone wanting to see? Isn't that exactly the kind of shows and films a DVD on demand service should be providing?

I was thinking Savage but on the other hand maybe one of Darkside's lot? I'm guessing hiding the face would make more sense with Savage - although would Adam Strange have recognised him?

Given how good this was, how can you not want to cover it? Come on - if it keeps up this quality you'll only have to cover it again in a few years as a re-watch anyway :)

I'd give the episode that plays out the 'Hello, Megan' in more detail and reveals a lot about Ms. Martian a watch - episode 21.

Cheers jellybeanpill, not sure why the comment struck a nerve but that makes a lot of sense. Doh!
