I'm a youngish lady journalist, and even I feel paranoid when I'm taking pictures of kids at an event, so I can't imagine how my older male counterparts fare.

I think he is!

And, in the "this season on…" segment, I'm pretty sure Annie says to her son, "Did you go there to have sex with him?", presuming 'there' is the party.

I was shocked by how much work she's had done. Her lips were distractingly immobile.

They look like they could be teenagers, too, not 28-year-olds pretending to be late for homeroom. Connor Jessup was a standout in Falling Skies for me, so I'm pleased to see him get a more prestige, challenging role.

I watched the pilot of Making A Murderer right before this…not something I'd suggest if you'd like to go to bed in a good mood.

The Coach Dan misdirect really threw me. I inwardly groaned, thinking, "Ugh, a pervy coach too?" and was pleasantly surprised (as much as one can be given the topic) that he was a concerned dad instead.

I'm staying sober for January and February both for financial reasons and to give my body a chance to recover after the holidays. The wine and whiskey I got for Christmas is staring at me mournfully from on top of the refrigerator.

The Blondes gets the Stephen King stamp of approval on the book jacket, so that's promising.

I auditioned to write and act in a sketch show spoofing "Titanic," and I found out last night that I got accepted to do both. Very excited and very nervous about it all.

About to finish up Jami Attenberg's marvelous Saint Mazie, which I highly recommend.
Yesterday, I took out some books from the library but don't know which one I'm going for first:
-The Blondes by Emily Schultz
-Dietland by Sarai Walker
-Love May Failby Matthew Quick
-The Song Machine: Inside the Hit Factory by John

I work part-time at a restaurant/music hall, so I'll be there until 10:30, upon when I'll be heading a few blocks over for a cocktail party/fundraiser for the city's new comedy theater. I have the apartment to myself, so I plan on bringing my man friend home and enjoying his company. Multiple times.

Being financially irresponsible…I gotta get my shit together in 2016 and work on paying down my credit card debt.

About 95% done with Jon Ronson's So You've Been Publicly Shamed. Highly recommend it.

As a Zumba instructor, so do I.

Silver Lining is one of my favorite Kacey Musgraves songs.

An especially weird mix this week…

One of the local radio stations plays a version called "12 Things at Christmas That Are Such A Pain To Me," which is unbearable.
