Its odd to think that we are living in a moment when baby boomer mainstays are having to give over to the next generation. Its hard to imagine Jeopardy without Trebek or SNL without Lorne, though I suspect both are more than capable of going on with no hitches.

I think that if you go back to any era of country music you would find that there was always a lot more chaff than wheat; it is the Merle Haggards and Waylon Jennings who get remembered. I scan mainstream country music looking for the wheat. I admit it is hard to find.

I really think the Joe Diffie song "John Deere Green" is a minor classic.

I think the best episode of this first season is the one where the serial killer gets in Dutch Boy's head. He catches the guy but the show ends with Dutch crying in his car, emotionally broken. So well played.

That was one fine looking actress playing that groupie.
