Some thoughts I dont think have been expressed yet:
1. Ava saying she is going kill Ellen May herself. I think our love for this character has blinded us to how far to the dark side she has gone.

The Jim Varney show was great. I think he is underrated. But I am somewhat of a redneck so maybe my judgement isnt clear.

Was I the only one who liked the Ed O'Neil update of Dragnet?

Man that might be the best part of that whole movie.

Black Hawk Down is the best war movie made this century: Its a masterpiece.

So glad that you guys are doing this. Love this show. I could go on and on.

I think that Vic was somewhat humbled as the show went on, and he was wasnt the same man he was in the pilot. His arrogance would undo him to a certain degree. He always thought he work the angles better.

The thing I loved about Vic was it wasnt that he was the smartest guy. But he was the quickest mentally. He could come up with a better plan in 15 seconds than you could in a minute.

I dont think that he ever gets calculating as he thinks he does. And he pays for it.

The way Vic puts that little racist accent on Cinco de Mayo is so killer. I had forgotten that early on Vic had protection from on high.

So agree about Ronnie. It was amazing how he went from having no lines to one of the most compelling characters. I wonder how things would have been different if he had been Vic's number one boy instead of Shane?

The death of Terry is what sets Mackey apart from a Sipowitz though. Without that it wouldnt be The Shield.

Was I the only one who felt little sympathy for the unprepared neighbors in "The Shelter"? To me this was just a retelling of "The Ant and the Grasshopper" but for some reason we were supposed to feel for the ant.

1. Loved the scene between Raylan and Ava. Much as I love Boyd I miss them as a couple thought they had great chemistry. (Though Ava would probably have good chemistry with Shemp Howard)

Hate to be all real worldy, but you have to submit fingerprints to be any kind of cop……Wouldnt this come up that he wasnt who he said he was? Shelby may be a red herring.

I know that we are supposed to say The Wire is the best show (and I do love it so) but man oh man. Im not sure anyone did thrilling suspense better than The Shield. So much fun to watch Mackey operate as the screws got tighter and tighter…..

Maybe he has a kindle?

There was a pet lion, but they never said he was fed to it, or even implied it. It is well worth seeing again!

Even knowing who he was its hard not to feel some sympathy for him at the end-betrayed by who he thought was his only friend in the world.

I think im just repeating a lot of things already said, but to me this one of the best films of the 90's, with performances by Depp, Pacino and Madsen I dont think they have ever excelled. Also Anne Heche(!) was even decent in this.
