Yeah good answer. He is very menacing as Fatso Judson. I think his biggest gift as an actor is he could play salt of the eath good guy or scary as shit bad guy.

I thought he was really good in Beverly Hills Cop. He brings such an air of authenticity. Same goes for Captain Jellicoe. I think it was good that the sometimes too smug crew of NCC-1701-D got a little shaking up.

Let me just say that as a southern law enforcement professional he set the standard of everything I wanted to be: Wise, human, and witty. Even knowing that the golden age he and Mayberry represented nevery truly existed does not keep me mourning it in my heart.

Well you got to consider the time, and the fact that the nation and world isnt as connected as it is now. Back then there were quite a few people for whom a football game would be a very strange and foreign event. Check out the 30 for 30 documentary about Jimmy the Greek. Know how he made his reputation in the 40's?

The best bit that Louie CK was in season two when he arrested Tom in the back of the van.

Knowing when to quit is an art form. If anything we underestimate it.

Thats good to know!

I think a lack of a good ending for an otherwise strong show causes its overall standing in pop culture to go down.  Look at The X Files-what if it had a kick ass two hour series finale instead of limping along like a horse  that needed to be shot?

It seems to me that the best finales are the ones for shows that go out at the top (or near the top) of their game. Cheers could have gotten at least a couple more seasons before it started really falling off I'm sure. The Shield and The Wire both were still going strong. (I guess some folks might say the last season

We expect more of TV now than in Andy Griffith's day. I'm sure that many people were pleasantly surprised that The Fugitive provided such a strong ending………it doesn't seem the norm for that  era of TV. Are there any examples of shows from before, say, MASH, that are good examples of a well done finale.
