Re: The Waldo Moment
Re: The Waldo Moment
I can't even tell if this is sarcastic because there are probably 20 people in the comments who have pointed out this exact thing already
Guys, I know no one's pointed this out yet, but I can't believe this reviewer didn't realize that "shool" is actually "shul". i.e. a Jewish synagogue, and not a mispronunciation of "school". Actually kinda of surprised that there are 450+ comments now and no one's picked up on such an egregious error by the reviewer.…
Upvoted purely for use of the phrase "of same".
It's nice to finally get a review that discusses some of the show's legitimate problems (i.e. lack of forward narrative momentum) instead of the typical "this show is sexist because a bunch of NFL players don't respect women" we've been subject to all season long.
Of all the hilarious Jewish references in WHAS, that was the best part for me solely because the first name she says is "Amanda Klein", which was the name of a girl in my grade at the small, Jewish high school I attended. Just totally lost it at that point.
The most unrealistic part of this episode is the reveal that The Rock is charging his clients 3%. The industry standard for wealth management is 1% and rarely higher. 2% is unheard of, let alone 3%, which leads me to believe The Rock is completely ripping off his naive NFL clients and is actually a terrible person.
Whoever is running the Andy Dwyer AV Club account deserves major props for up-voting literally every comment in this thread. True dedication to the essence of what the great Andy Dwyer is all about.
Their success rate is quite low, but they dd churn out vinegar strokes and eskimo brothers, terms that have both pretty solidly entered popular lexicon, at least among people I know. So I don't necessarily blame them for continuing to coin these terms, even if most attempts fail pretty badly.
Cool story bro.
Yeah, I mean Sonia could help clear up author's intent here (although she doesn't seem keen on doing any clarifying at all), but I did not read much humorous intent in those quotes, and it seems like most others agree.
Boy surely do I hope that someone gets fired for that blunder.
BOOM ROASTED
I'm not so sure you should so confidently claim that what Sonia is quoted as writing is as simple as "cracking a joke about white men". Admittedly I'm devoid of context here, but those quotes come off as serious enough, if not quite loudly exclaiming "I HATE WHITE MEN. FUCK WHITE MEN", certainly expressing not…
This is really easy guys:
Yes, that's pretty much exactly what it is. While it's annoying to see it permeate these comment boards for the show, I don't even blame people for getting up in arms over it. Ideally this wouldn't be happening here where it detracts from what these comments should be about, but what're we gonna do I guess. Sonia has…
Yes I'm just fucking with you. We've all got our issues, else why would we be here? ;)
If this episode convinced me of anything, it's that Ann Dowd ought no longer be called "Margo Martindale-lite", more like "close acting parallel to Margo Martindale".
So what you're saying is, I-have-such-a-full-life-that-I-can't-spend-all-day-watching-TV passive aggressive continuous and unrelenting SHOTS FIRED
