Piggybacking on what other folks have said, Dar Williams cover is pretty good. It's a shame that I don't know anyone IRL who knows who she is.

Leonard moves in with Penny so they can keep an eye on their 'son', Amy moves in to Leonard's old room to advance their relationship without it getting physical, they drag us through n more seasons of Amy being interested in nothing but anal and the asshole refusing to open up to her until he does.

Doesn't he do a bunch of stage stuff during his 'off' time? I'm pretty sure he can have a pretty decent stage career doing pretty much whatever he wants after this is over.

I couldn't even get through half an hour with them. And I like most of the actors on the show, too. I just hate the show and the characters.

At one per week, Seinfeld was pretty funny, but at two or three per day, I can't tolerate the characters.

We're going without cable at the new house, but we'd have this or some other mindless show on for background noise. Sheldon makes us actively dislike the show, but all of the women on it are pretty good, and it was nice to see Miccuci getting some work when she was on. Of all of them, we'll probably miss Rauch more

I don't know about the IJN, but their current SDF is full of geeks. Gundam mascots, anime stuff all over the place.
Hell, most militaries are half full of geeks. Kids who grew up playing D&D and thought that they'd like to give it a go IRL.

It's a great book, and better than a lot of what's out there. It's just not high on my list of 'favorite Culture novels'.

Nah, we're just taking it all personally.

I may have made a mistake in starting with Lonesome Dove, which was so amazingly good that it made all of his other stuff seem like unadulterated shit. Last Picture Show and Horseman, Pass By were both okay, but the rest of his stuff just sucked.

I liked Player of Games, but it's not even in my top half for Culture novels. I loved Consider Phlebas, and even respected Use of Weapons, but Player of Games seemed a bit joyless, especially compared to some of the other Culture novels.

I recognize their artistic talents, but hate them SO. FUCKING. MUCH. because of their douchebag fans in the '80s, getting on my case for not embracing Bono's politics and social ideology along with the music.

I kinda hate Rikki Don't Lose That Number, and Reelin' in The Years, but so many of their non-radio cuts are terrific. It takes a lot of work to sound that dissipated.

The Culture novels are all great, but I liked Excession, which featured the minds much more, and Inversions which was barely a Culture novel at all, much more than the rest. There was some metaphor about a ship in Inversions that just killed me at the time, although I'm not in a position to look it up right now.

I read Catch-22 in High School and enjoyed it, but read it again while I was deployed to Somalia and realized it was one of the best books ever written.

after the quake, another of his short story collections was great- Honey Pie, the final story, may be my favorite thing by him ever.

… of PEACOCK!

I credit the furlough last October for my only firstie on the TI boards. Pre Disqus dicking us, too.

OF COCK!

We watched this and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels as a double feature one rainy weekend. They're both so good.
