Oh man, I loved the baseball episode.  It's goofy and stupid as hell but it's so fun.

End of season 3, start of season 4 (or when Sisko grows a beard).  If you've made it through season 2 and are enjoying it you should be alright.

It also doesn't hurt that the very end of that episode is about the biggest fuck yes moment in Trek.

That always drove me nuts too.  Thank god it isn't like TNG.  TNG already exists and has done it far better than any other series could.  Head down that path and you end up with a bunch of shitty Voyager episodes.  Try something new in the (fictional) universe.
