I'm of the opinion that people only pretend to like Malick's newer films (past the 70s), so as not to look unenlightened.

I moved to Chicago for film school. If anyone has recommendations for good theaters or places to see punk or metal shows, please let me know.

What is this reference, and why haven't I seen it?

I got into film school based in part on a horror film where the medium degrades over time- but as odds are no one will see that, I'd love to see it here.

My high school math teacher had a masters from Duke, but had left some super high paying job to teach low-income rednecks. So, not an asshole.

That would be cool. I'm writing a haphazard blog when I find time- all first draft stuff, but when I get back I would like to write something more polished about it.

Out here in rural China, the internet is bad even before I use tech to get around the firewall. That said, I was able to almost catch up on Wayward Pines before the internet quit on me (due to an injury, I was the only person in my dorm). That twist got me. While I don't think it's anywhere near one of the best shows

Will do- I'm thinking about starting a blog about it. If I do, will post it here.

I moved to the Shaolin Temple in China- I'm spending the summer learning Kung Fu from Shaolin Monks. Weekends have a lot of down time for rest, and I was wondering if any fellow people living in Asia have suggestions for good streaming sites via VPN (it slows everything down quite a bit). Downtime has been quite

It is really disappointing, especially given how ham-handed GoT has been about rape in the past (particularly last season with Cersei). I feel like a lot of people misread my post as an endorsement of the scene, where it was me grasping at straws to find an acceptable reason for it (I didn't want to have watched that

I hated the rape scene as much as everyone else- however, I am trusting that there will be purpose to the scene, albeit one of narrative convenience. Here's my theory:

No Arrested Development?

Was a teenage fuckup, and here's what I found.

The guest was incredible. Good luck on getting in to the school of your choice! I'm in the midst of doing the same.

Finally got around to starting Fargo (the tv show). It's pretty great, and I love Billy Bob.

Gone Girl. Great, but there were a couple pretty dumb plot holes.

The Last of Us Remastered on my roommate's PS4. I'm only about 6 hours in, and I'm blown away.

That sounds nice. The thing with creative work is it's so infrequent that it's hard to get experience (I'm actually shooting aforementioned zombie musical on spec because of that, although I can't afford to). I'm only two years out of undergrad, so I miss out on a ton of jobs because everyone else has more experience.

I wish I could do post- ADHD makes it unbearable. I wish I could get by just doing indies, but they don't pay the bills. Really thinking about getting my MFA- I don't mind being crew, but I really want to direct. How is working corporate? I don't have my own gear, so I don't have a chance to do much of that.

Oh yeah, it's no fun. I'm also 2nd cam/1st AC on another feature that's being shot at the same time- my first doing sound or camera work professionally. Super stressed out.
