I spent the weekend working crew on a low budget flick. You haven't had a bad day until you've been the sound guy on a zombie killing musical number that was shot at an apartment complex next to a highway.

I lived by PSU, so we'd always sneak on top of our apartment building and watch them without a crowd. There are things I miss about Portland, but for the most part I hate that place.

Has. It's every fourth of July

GZA and High on Fire? I may actually have to go to this.

Watched Big Bad Wolves, Tell No One, and Paris, Texas. Found Big Bad Wolves disappointing, really liked Paris, Texas, and don't know how to feel about Tell No One.

Is that the same week they had Sucker Punch?

I always claim the Simpsons, even though it's kind of cheating.

John Belushi is also from the area- not sure exactly where, but I have an uncle who went to the College of Dupage with him.

"If you don't shut your cunt mouth, I'm going to eat every chicken here"

No Snowpiercer?

You should get yourself tested.

Where's Franklin?

TUGGA SHOT HIMSELF!

They could do a film festival that was nothing but The Raid played on repeat, and I would go. Every year.

I thought he won the Oscar.

I was hoping Pacific Rim would be live action Evongaleon (?), and was disappointed when it turned out to basically be Top Gun in the future. That said, it could have been far worse.

One thing I've learned from the shorts I've directed is to develop an appreciative approach when people challenge you. Something like, "thanks for that idea, may use it later, but I know what I want to do with these shots"

Finally saw Pacific Rim, The Killing of a Chinese Bookie, and Duck, You Sucker. Enjoyed all of them, though was disappointed in Pacific Rim's predictability.

17 year old punk rock me would have found this enjoyable. But that was a while ago.

"Ja Rule (real name Yes Rule)" may be O'Neal's best non-Dan In Real Life screenplay line yet.
