The case came be made that the first Transformers is fun, switch your brain off action romp despite the Bayisms. But the sequels are unbearable. Bay has long ago exhausted the extent of what he can do with this idea

Bay has only kept making the first movie (worse) each time anyway, for 10 years at this point
I was not in dire need of clone deaths for a sense of stakes (this is not Game of Thrones, the goal of the conspiracy is not to kill the clones, but to control them to advance their research).
I do not go into DW seasons expecting a direct line to the fireworks factory (the last scene with Missy was all the season arc needed) that doesn't mean this was a fantastic stand alone though.
It's weird thinking that Nardole would be onboard prior to Oxygen, which leads directly into the Monk Trilogy.
I get where you are coming from, and the scene was unnecessary and heavy handed in its sexual politics. As a straight guy, this is not personal to me in the slightest.
From the very start, MK was set up as a pragmatic, paranoid, survivalist. She's still wearing the sheep mask this week. I rolled my eyes at the idea of her sacrificing herself to ultimately not save Kira.
It's locked in my brain pretty fine as it is. And Alison's yoga pants didn't count for nothing
I have a really hard time with MK, the most paranoid and survivalist of all clones, dying in an ultimately pointless bid to save Sarah/Kira. I was completely detached from that scene
She's too awesome not to at least nominally join the TARDIS team, even if her redemption will obviously have to be undone at some point
Missy knew about the post-Day of the Doctor status of Galiifrey and wasn't acting like this was the first time she'd seen the Doctor since the Time War. Missy was apparently stalking 11 and arranged for Clara to become his companion (by giving her the TARDIS phone number) Missy is post-Saxxon.
- I agree for the most part (and it is helpful to reestablish this fact for a while, for new/newish viewers) … however …
This was one of those times you'd think they would have tried period clothing to as they came with the intent of interacting with locals.
- I highly doubt Star Wars is going to wipe Jedi from existence for the rest of the franchise. And has I've said before, it is REALLY weird that Disney is even nominally messing with the playbook of the original trilogy here. It's been 30+ years since Endor, and we are still saying Luke is the last Jedi standing?…
Cruise is the only survior of the final battle, and his speech to the Emperor resolves the plot. He goes back to village to bang the wife of that dude he killed, again as the last survivor of the samurai club if you consider him an offcial/semi-offical member. He's unambiguously the hero of the movie, to me at least.
The franchise became a parody of itself the moment T3 started. And th story was already over with T2, all it did was undo a perfectly good ending to net us Salvation and Genesys. Yuck

I think watching it back-to-back with the more energetic Planet Terror, people got bored with the extended Tarantino dialogue sections. I love that **** though. And off course, Kurt Russell is amazing … and that's still probably the best car chase there has ever been
I haven't honestly believed that a clerk has been into me since I was a teenager. I probably small talk with cashiers in about 3/10 interactions, and never flirtatiously.
At the very least unfollow your exes, dude.
