Were you aware that publishing research rarely draws a paycheck? Sure, you might be on a fat grant (if you're in STEM, anyway; pretty unlikely in the humanities), and you do need to publish to get/keep that gig, but there's rarely any such "money, please" moment. Maybe you know that and are referencing it, in which

Does the study break the numbers out by time of a character's creation? Over the last decade or so, it's seemed to me like both quantity and things like naming conventions have experienced positive changes, so I'd be interested to see if the data bears that out.

It's funny, too, because so much of the weirdness and even occasional kink that's embraced in Bob's Burgers would baffle or horrify family viewers in the 70s.

Used to be "Zhithouse."

I've been admitting it for years but it just doesn't seem to take.

Hey, he was in Gravity Falls too!

In fairness to Mike Hill, the patrons behind him make him look like the youngest, freshest attendee of what's apparently an All-Mom club.

It wasn't anything I'd considered before, but having seen it, Laura Dern is really the only person who COULD be Diane.

"The end of ROTJ, to me, signified the rebirth of the Jedi."

This sounds way more compelling than I expected it to. Not awesome or anything, but I wasn't expecting "worth a look" to be the impression I came away with.

AND THEN HE STARTS A SECOND ONE!!

Well, they phased him out a lot for Muppets Tonight (EDIT: which Henson was around for, I know, but it was a solid-feeling contribution with a lot of new characters), and that was pretty solidly within the Muppets feel. As colossal a loss as Henson was, I think the Muppets really didn't get problematically weaker

These monkey's paw premises have always puzzled me: Is it simply that the magic seizes on the most literal translation (e.g., the "madly in love" example above), or is it actual nefarious intent. Knowing that distinction would count for a lot; for example, if you wished something unambiguous like "I wish I had $10,"

On an unrelated note, I wanted to let you know that my daughter decided to go as "Captain America, but as a cat" for Halloween two years ago (Captain Americat), and she really enjoyed your avatar.

Yeah, but Steve Whitmire's street tough delivery makes the character - He and Gonzo's scenes were the best part of Muppet Christmas Carol. Along those lines, his Kermit was fine, but never nailed the cynical optimist balance. I'm convinced when a Muppet's first voice goes, it'll never be quite right.

"Bean" Bunny. I think losing Rizzo is the worst part of all.

I mean, yeah, but that also goes for all knowledge. That is how it works.

No doubt. I like Stone just fine, and the new stuff is definitely going beyond the brand of arrogance thing that they cultivated so well.

"much about that movie involves completely insufferable people dooming others to terrible fates based on whims and getting away with it….."

Why would he be sucked off by an enemy? Does he have pheromone powers?
