At first I thought they were referring to Sextina Aquafina, but then I saw that this is a different person than that voice actor and also not a dolphin.

Not even a reader of comics, but any viewer of the Marvel movies/shows knows that the wise older guy is gonna get dead. It wasn't a question of if Pop was going to die, only when.
As is often the case, a Kate Beaton comic explains it best: http://www.harkavagrant.com…
He's best when irrelevant. They tried to make him happen, and I'm glad it didn't take (although I feel bad for his loss of potential revenue) because he's best being deadpan at the fringe.
The Firefly crossover episode is gonna be amazing.
Nothing, but it's a helluva jump from there to here.
I always took him as John Hodgman.
No, that's about right, although it slowly acquires the layer of "horrible things will always happen to good people and there's not a lot you can do about it but keep fighting anyway because the alternative is worse."
After years of cultivation, it's really hard for me not to hear "big dumb guy" in Warburton's delivery, which makes it a pretty far bridge to "eloquent, morose smartass detective" for me (although both are pretty dry). This is a strange moment because I like both things yet am not (yet) feeling them being put together.
Y'know, I think you just pointed out one of the stronger aspects of Daredevil season 2 (at least at first): Its use of arcs. The Punisher arc in the first third-ish told a fairly complete and satisfying story, and the second arc did a lesser but still decent job following that up. Then it turned into Night of a…
And make sure there's no reason to give a shit about the ninjas or interpret them as anything but straight-up evil!
And I think even that white guy is Hispanic.
Man, I got my hair cut a few months ago, and my barber said "I don't think I wanna vote for either of these idiots for president, Hillary or, what's his name, the rich guy with the mouth." Never underestimate people's ability to not give a shit about famous people's names.
I don't think it IS dragging its feet though. I think this show has a strong focus on Harlem as character - which I recognize has been done a LOT - and wants to develop that character. Jumping forward to the big (SPOILERS???) funeral scene, look at all the jockeying over who's allowed to speak for Harlem. Each…
People in my feed keep griping that this show is too slow and doesn't hold their interest. Christ, folks, let something BUILD once in a while.
The DD mask is the sticking point for me as well. I suspect they'll go with a bandanna; the Netflix series seem to have learned to evoke the elements of the original (think that fantastic yellow lining of Luke's hoodie) rather than adhere to them rigidly.
Daredevil's original outfit on the show gives me hope. Daredevil's current outfit on the show gives me pause.
Well, in addition to the beard, he had no reason to think he was alive. It's hard to see what you're not expecting to see (which is why I can't do those Magic Eye things).
I didn't think that but now I do.
