"Anna Silk’s total commitment to whatever batshit scenario she winds up in"
- God, this, so much. Her acting in the first season can be shaky at times, but the girl throws herself right at that character, and I just love it. The show can be totally ridiculous, frequently, but that's one of the things that brings me

Kozmo, if you're asking how frequently Bo and Lauren have sex I'll spoil  you now and say it's not very often. Their coupley screen time together is brief compared to the time spent with Dyson, but all of it is pretty loaded, so you can't really afford to lose any of it without damaging the build up of their slow burn

I dunno, when you put it like that, it doesn't sound so bad….

Clearly. That's what's kind of blowing my mind here. They can't possibly pretend they cut a shot of fingertips on a bicep because it was too graphic, and like I said in another comment, if it had been any other character doing it, it wouldn't have occurred to anybody that it needed cutting.

Yeah, I do understand that they might want to make more room for ads, but the cuts they made in this case were far, far too deliberate when there had plenty of other non-dialogue moments or establishing shots in this episode they could have trimmed instead.

Did you see the insanely vaginatacular art she has around her apartment then?

Kevin, it's funny that you mention the speed of Lauren's plot advancement - having promised they wouldn't tone down anything, SyFy US went ahead and chopped a few key seconds out of Lauren and Bo's interaction after the Ash busts into the apartment. Though they'd no problem with broadcasting some fairly bloody

Exactly. And the only way they can make that happen is by bending both Bo and Dyson out of shape - they don't fit those archetypes naturally.

Season 3 is currently in production, they're filming the first or second episode by now. It's not yet clear whether it will be 13 or 22 episodes long - it was quite late in the day that they got the extended order for S2.

I like Kris Holden Reid and Dyson's alright on his own, but when Bo and Dyson are a couple they make assholes out of each other. Over the course of S2, Bo actually turns out to be a mature character you can actually like, but I can't help feeling that if Dyson was still in the picture, that couldn't have happened; it

People got the impression the actual production of S2 was a bit messy and weird because they got the full season order so late in the day, I'd imagine that could have made life a bit difficult for him too? Did he have any grumbles in that regard?

It's pretty character driven, so yeah, I think you can jump right in and just go with it until you pick up on the details.

"Aoife" is how it's spelled in Ireland anyway, although it's usually anglicized to "Aife" elsewhere. Not sure which one the show goes for.

It's definitely set in Canada, and probably Toronto. They haven't said it out loud, but there have been a lot of dead giveaways. Having to cross the border for the execution was the first big clue but later on an episode has repeated references to "the falls area", so it's fairly definitely Ontario, at least.

I think it's meant to be complimentary. Canadian tv's much more relaxed and realistic attitude to drinking, sex and relationships has a very different feel to American tv. I'm European and I can definitely feel the difference. US tv has the cash, but Canadian tv treats me like an adult and I'll take that any day.

Ah, okay then yeah, I getcha.

As far as I can tell, Zoie Palmer's previous characters have pretty much all been hardass cops, alcoholic rockstars and self destructive rescue divers. Lauren is totally unlike any other character on Palmer's CV, and it's worth having a look at her other roles on youtube to see just how different she is. The

I love this show and I love seeing coverage of it here. It's patchy and flawed, but it's got real heart and the cast hurl themselves into it with a terrific amount of gusto. The female side of the cast really shines, in particular, in a way that does my heart good. Anna Silk's interplay with Ksenia Solo is a joy to

I'd love to see regular coverage of it here, personally. It's a fun show that has occasional glimpses of something really special in there, but most coverage of it either totally fangirls past its flaws or sets out to be completely dismissive of the very premise. Strikes me as a show AV Club could do justice.
