You know, I'd kind of agree with a lot of this.

I agree with just about every point in this post. Tamsin could have worked if she wasn't just sledged in there like that, but instead, her overall arc somehow managed to be both telegraphed from Jupiter and non-sensical in its episode-by-episode progression. I would have been genuinely shocked if she'd tried to go

That post makes good points, but I feel like Kumagoro hasn't joined the dots -

The thing is, ever since Bo's big Dawning thing, which was supposed to leave her stronger than ever, her active role in the plots has actually diminished. So we're told she's super powerful ultimate fae now, but we're actually seeing less proof of that than ever before. Tamsin's doing all the fighting, Kenzi's doing

She did, but I kind of think that the abruptly truncated way the "split season" left her storyline, just hanging out there, meant that development was kind of missed on a lot of people. Assuming she's not an actual literal prisoner, she probably has more agency than any other character right now, except possibly Kenzi.

If that was it, it could be a different situation now. The show started airing in a lot of new territories this year, and the E! win generated quite a bit of internet interest.

Definitely very cleavagey, but all the cinched belts give her really odd proportions. They have a new wardrobe person this year, and I'm not wild about the results. Some of the choices in previous seasons were weird too, but I felt they were better tailored to the actors themselves.

" Still, this episode in particular seemed overly rushed and choppy, to the point that it felt like there were connecting scenes that had been dropped for the sake of time."

I'm not so sure about Bo's storyline though. I mean, she pretty much just had stuff done *to* her for the second half of the season. It wasn't a storyline so much as an apparently random succession of stuff that just happened in proximity to her. Look at the last episode - literally all Bo did was follow Tamsin

I think it takes bunches and bunches of inspiration from Buffy and Angel, but the sexual politics angle is the one element that I think LG brings to the table. Sometimes.

Am I alone in my dislike of Tamsin by the way?

I hate to flog a horse so dead it's forming a puddle by now, but everybody understands it was actually Lauren who outsmarted Taft, right?

This is going to be tricky due to AV Club's horribly unweildy commenting system, but yeah.

It's kind of killing me we won't have a discussion for last night's episode. Holy smokes. The Monster of the Week was barely on screen, but they covered a *lot* of plot ground for the characters, and the last scene between Bo and Lauren was intense.

Lol, yeah I'd definitely assumed as much. Ashes, I says to myself, the only way *that* has a hope in hell of making it onto SyFy is if SyFy doesn't realise what it's seeing.

The practice you're referring to is basically tribbing and gosh, it's just spiffing. I'll leave it to somebody else to outline the actual mechanics of this particular scene because I haven't seen it for a while, but weirdly, the lesbian sex on this show is some of the most realistic you can get away with on tv.

Yeah. I do think it's a shame just for that. Falling just short of that episode seems a pity, I was really curious what AV Clubbers were going to make of the unusually sharp Kenzi/Lauren conversations in particular. Oh well.

People tend to compare it to Buffy a lot, and it clearly does have some lineage in that vein, but in a lot of ways, tonally it sits a little closer to S1 of Angel.

Ditto.

Whoa. See, that's why I can't quit you, AV Club.
