For a spy show, it's weird there's been no Ernst Stavro Blofeld equivalent recurring super villain in the Archer-verse (this struck me rewatching the old Bond movies recently). And I guess it's because they love making the cast its own worst enemy, but as you say that has gotten really old now.

Personally, I found this a boring drawn-out ending to an uneven season. And the sci-fi aspect really didn't work for me in this show.

Ha, I got the Judge Crater reference, and the DB Cooper reference in The Wind Cries Mary, but only because I myself had read the Wikipedia entry on famous missing people cases.

LOL you're not wrong there.

He was voiced by Tom Kane throughout Archer Vice. Can't say I noticed the difference, but then he only had a few lines.

May just be my favourite episode since season 3 (as good as last week's episode was), because finally a new dynamic! This was so refreshing after so many seasons of basically going over the same territory.

I preferred it when this show focused on Saul and his unfolding story (it is Better Call Saul after all) so this episode didn't work at all for me. They could have fit in everything in this episode but only framed it from Saul's point of view as he learns Mike's story, but lumping in a whole Mike episode just makes

Hopefully the baby will be needed on its home planet soon.

If I recall correctly, the first three missions were successes so they haven't actually done too badly, although this week was definitely a train-wreck (the mission, not the episode).

That is true, but I am thinking of the Skorpio arms-dealer episode where she watched close at hand from the Chum-Guzzler – something like that, only she's forced to jump in at the last minute to save the team.

Pretty great episode, although it has to be said Slater really is a bit of a nothing character – Mallory would have been way funnier in that role. Get better Jessica Walter!

Well I live in a different country so perhaps the police are lazier/less aggressive here.

Okay, but the idea that a police car would be sent out over a stolen 50 cent newspaper, even if the thief was wearing a space blanket, is utterly absurd. I can hear the guffaws now if I called the police over something so trivial.

I think the show is actually moving a little *too* fast in some respects. I didn't want them to address Chuck's illness so soon – I feel like they could have explored that a little more slowly rather than dumping it all on the table suddenly in one episode. The mystery of it was compelling (even though it was

Pretty weak episode after a great run.

Yeah, what I liked about earlier seasons was the half spy-show/half office-comedy – not that they ever did much office work but they still had *some* obligations. But this season the office team don't do any work whatever – to the point they can all jet off and run around Area 51 for a day.

Decent episode, and it looked amazing, but I really hated that twist at the end that it was Slater behind the theft. They've totally exhausted the Malory/Barry/Katya/Slater/Lana is secretly behind it crap. This show needs some new villains.

For me it's not so much that the formula is threadbare, but that the show is now almost totally stagnant. Since Season 4 it's been increasingly introspective and focused on itself instead of the world outside.

Fair call, but I'm a long-time Archer viewer and I can't say I've noticed that much character growth. I mean I guess Pam developed from being a fat desperate HR director to being a fat oversexed unstoppable she-hulk, which I know a lot of people love, but personally I think they veered a bit too far there into
