I'd agree with that. Rango was the closest he came to genuine auteur status. People will throw a goddamn rage fit when I say this, but I'd love to see his more-is-more, weird tangent-friendly style in the Star Wars universe.

I hate the interview format of this feature, with the interviewer trying to gin up the interviewee with all these leading questions, like the little yappy dog in those old Looney Tunes running around the bulldog's feet.
