It's not just that- he's always eating breakfast.  I guess because scenes involving Jr. usually happen just before he's off to school.  The pancake thing almost seemed like a shout-out in recognition of the Walt Jr. breakfast thing.

Agree on that.  I don't have a problem with it as an absurdist reference either (Sarah Silverman style).  Just bugs me that in all this debate, we don't know what the original bit actually was.  I'm guessing there was slightly more to it than "rape is hilarious."

So I guess I'm going to go ahead and assume that a "rape joke" refers only to jokes about rape that come from a point of view of belittling the trauma of rape or actually finding rape itself humorous or something like that.  Because certainly there are jokes referencing rape that do not all come from that point of
