It's not just Argentines — I know Latin Americans of all types who make jokes/mean-spirited digs at darker Latin Americans.

I agree, but I think the Like made more interesting music.

Blew my mind seeing the Hanson show in Austin had sold out. Apparently these guys are still popular amongst their original fans?

Yeah, it's probably just not my thing.

Yeah, I listened to this the other day to see what all the hype is about, and I'm not so impressed. I feel like this is one I just don't get.

I like ASH and Y&YM. But the band went from being a kind of cool, dirty Southern band to a really disturbingly manicured band of LA pretty boys by the time BotT came around. And I can't get onboard with that.

I'm with you — can't stand anything the band has done since "Aha Shake Heartbreak."

I found out about an old coworker's suicide like that. She was so young, too. (And got a FB message from another friend when an ex died in a car crash.) It all felt rather fucked.

They call it Satan's vagina.

Only for having the worst series finale ever. (No one will remember anything else.)

Yeah, don't let Ray Stevenson fool you — that stuff was good, but it couldn't save the season.

Kind of agreed, but I don't think season 7 merits an A-. Too generous, given how uneven it was, and how the interesting parts went nowhere. I'd say C. I'd also give season 5 a B, and make 6 a C-.

In retrospect, it isn't BAD bad. I found it to be less compelling than seasons 1, 2 and 4, but it's certainly still closer in quality to the show at its peak. Season 5 was middling, and seasons 6-8 were flat-out embarrassing for everyone involved.

You're being a silly beaver — clearly this reviewer (as with most of us here) enjoyed the show for awhile, and was chagrined that it turned out this horribly, given its potential.

Ugh, I've seen commenters here, too, saying, "If you don't like the ending, it's because you don't understand ambiguity." SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!

It's weird, because I think the first few seasons, the writers seemed ambivalent about Dexter — that we weren't supposed to know how to feel about him, either. And then Buck and Co. decided to make him a superhero, and wrecked the whole show.

I can't believe those bastards cancelled "Enlightened." :(

That's fucking amazing. And WEIRD.

Yep — he was the worst kind of plot device. They'd trot him out when they wanted Dexter to seem compassionate (OMG I wuuuuuv my son) and then hide him away with the babysitter most of the time. (I'm still wondering WTF happened to his original Irish babysitter?)

Are you KIDDING? I think a lot of people could do better than Scott Buck. It really wouldn't be that hard. You have good actors at your disposal (for the most part), and you presumably have some cash.
