Little known fact: G.R.R. Martin got a writing credit for naming all of the Wookies.

I guess having to spout out whatever passes for "writing" on The Walking Dead isn't the most dignified thing but hey, it's pretty much the most popular show on television and all of The Wire additions have been some of the best things about it.

This can only be seen as good news since Drew comes from the Whedon school of writing and directing, further strengthening the bond between Sony and the MCU.

Like how Captain Hammer, corporate tool, could really care less about Dr. Horrible until, well, you know.

I'd say Billy's Bucket List and Wake Up/Escape from the Citadel are more tangentially related than an actual arc. The S6 premiere springboards from the revelation at the end of S5 but up till that point BBL is completely standalone. You could argue that they make up a thematic arc and I wouldn't disagree, but it's not

How could you forget his work on The Little Rascals? For shame, A.V. Club.

My dream's Natalie Dormer.

"Blame tumblr, blame tumblr."
"They're not even a real blog site anyway."

It has style, and style in film, at least to me, is very important. It's an aesthetically pleasing film in that regard, to say nothing of the performances which I think are all pretty great and are given by a group of actors that I'm particularly fond of. Cranston, Hendricks, Perlman, and Mulligan are all personal

Who the hell calls Denzel by his last name?

To be fair, the scope of RotK is just too big to be done practically. Fellowship benefited from being slowly paced and far more intimate.

Just don't ever let him play psychologist.

Like the Lord of the Rings tagline, "Power can be held in the smallest of things." Get it? Cause hobbits are small.

It's hilarious watching all the tumblr dweebs lose their collective shit over this.

Clearly, you've never watched Community, which begs the question, what are you even doing on the A.V. Club?

I'll add that Arrow/Flash are just two shows and not multiple film and television properties. Arrow, also, was planned as a single series with a unique visual style whereas the MCU, and Iron Man in particle, was always planned as being this multiple property spanning entity. I think Marvel wanted to keep a consistent

In a way, I think that works in it's favor. It is a period piece after all and if the camera work were a little more showy it might end up showing it's seams.

That's the problem with trying to keep a consistent visual tone across multiple films and series. They've been playing it safe to keep anything from sticking too far out. It leads to some pretty boring camera work.

I actually think there's another interesting show here from the male perspective, and that's something I never thought I'd say. Obviously, that's not the point and pretty counter productive but I'll be damned if the male characters aren't interesting enough to carry it.

You really don't realize it when the CG is used to create everyday things like buildings and backgrounds and such. It's the far more fantastical and uncommon elements that stand out. Especially things that have to move.
