I liked Uncharted 3 a great deal - I hadn't played the previous ones so I didn't know what to expect.  To me it's like a high-quality 80s Indiana Jones rip, sort of if Romancing the Stone were closer to in quality to Temple of Doom.  I look forward to playing the first two.

This is their second ebook bundle, I think, and it just ended.  I always keep an eye on their game bundles and book bundles - I don't buy many games or books, so sometimes it's nice to get things cheap which I wouldn't buy otherwise.

I decided to update my avatar from something from the 60s to something from the 80s.  I'm very cutting edge.

I saw that too and thought of you.

My daughter has been begging to go to Cardiff to see that museum (and also to see if she can get through the rift).  I hope to be able to take her on a real vacation at some point.

Lem is a favourite of mine (hence the username) and his ability to capture the feeling of fairytales is excellent.  That he uses that ability to illustrate rather complex ideas is what I love - I always say that what Lem writes is less "science fiction" and more "philosophy of science fiction".

Read Shards of Honour, by Lois McMaster Bujold.  Funny thing, I was thinking of reading that series again as I haven't read any in decades (and am in the mood for some straight-up sci-fi), and the first book (Shards) shows up in the Humble E-Book Bundle.  Who'd a thunk it?  Anyway, it was fun.  I borrowed the next

Editing is part of it.  The cuts were longer and not nausea inducing shakey cam.  And this helped the pacing.

I can't imagine watching Grave of the Fireflies in public.  I don't think I can even bring myself to watch it again.

Christ, that's worse than *my* weekend - I just worked!

Pacific Rim is the first movie I watched in the theatre *twice* since…I can't remember.  Jurassic Park, I think.

(hugs.  takes opportunity to surreptitiously top up Montyparks novocaine dosage.)

I think they were just plain chips dusted with powdered Kool-Aid

I don't consume any pop culture, I just comment on it.

[David Attenborough parts branches, steps into the clearing and begins.]

Do what I do - bring a clipboard and take notes.

It is not your duty to deal with his past, it's his duty.  You have to watch out for relationships with people like that - they can frequently dominate the relationship with their needs.  Basically, if he hasn't *really* got his shit in order, he's going to ask you to get it in order for him.

I knew it, but laundry and ironing was one of my chores as a kid.

Eat a donair from King O.  After a long night of drinking, if you want the authentic Nova Scotian experience.
