"People… who… swallow…. by… force… create… a… quick… pulsating…ending!!"
- AV Club

My kid could paint that!

EXTRA CREDIT (fill in the blank):

Sounds like it's a self-referential light amusement, a real… meta lark.

If they had a fan vote to cast the role of Clarice, many would vote for Ellen Page, but would it be enough to… elect her?

Word! When I saw him in "The Rover" I recognized him from the teeny-bopper movies and then about 2 seconds later I forgot all about that stuff.

And John Lithgow with phone books duct-taped to him for body armor

I didn't see the movie, maybe she was great in it, I just wonder why they had to cast a flat-chested actress. I'm no comic-book expert, but I was under impression that Wonder Woman was buxom.

Yeah, that was my first thought (accept the mystery, etc) but it seems like even with all that sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. I loved the show, all 3 seasons, and the "how does Emmit's car start working?" thing isn't even close to a deal-breaker, it was just something that made me go "hmm".

I thought they did a good job with the Mike Milligan character, transcending the lame Sam Jackson riff. I liked his relationship with Joe Bulo ("Agree." "Agree with what?" "No, Agree, that's the name of the shampoo") and the whole Jabberwocky monologue thing was fun too. And I liked how he had sort of a midwestern

Or possibly The Mentaculus?

How did Emmit manage to drive away after Swango and the trooper shot each other? I thought she did something to disable his car, causing it to stall out on the side of the road?

"again?"

That, and how did Emmit manage to drive away from that scene? Aren't we to gather that Swango did something to his car to make it stall out on the highway?

"Concu22ion 2: 2 Conc 2 Ussion""

Much like Katie Holmes in "The Gift"

They would have done well to cast her in the lead in the "Wonder Woman" movie then. The actress they did cast was very skinny and flat-chested.

It's like "Shallow Hal" meets "Suture" meets "Office Space" meets "Single White Female"

Also it's nice how she accepts his incompetence, e.g., when he fails to disarm Maurice after she distracts Maurice with her nakedness, how she forgives him for missing the meeting with the would-be bridge benefactor, etc

Pullman doing uneasy courting is always gold - see, e.g., "Lake Placid" and "Mr Wrong"
