Don't go there, man. Don't you dare!
Don't go there, man. Don't you dare!
I'm reminded of that general in the Imaginationland epsiodes of South Park:
Both, actually :)
I suppose, but a lot of the violence in Indiana Jones (minus the face melting) is pretty sanitized too.
Now in fairness to the extended LOTR movies, Peter Jackson always made clear that the theatrical versions are his preferred versions, and the extended cuts are for the fans who want to see those additional scenes.
Well my dad is John Carpenter.
Yeah?? Well….my daddy could beat up your daddy!
Ok, but how does Indiana Jones count, while Star Wars doesn't?
Tom's reason was, and here I quote: "I don't think of Star Wars as an action movie." That's it and that's all.
Well now this is embarrassing. I actually own the Quadrilogy (which is totally not a word, but I love it anyway) box set, but I guess I never noticed this alternate version of Alien 3 in there.
I'm kinda intrigued to check these out just to see this unspeakable weirdness you mention.
Considering that Tom invented some bullshit reason as to why Star Wars didn't count as an action movie, you never know.
I thought we as a society agreed to never mention Highlander 2 ever again.
For a long time I preferred the extended, but after rewatching the theatrical for the first time in a long time a few months ago…I might have to agree with you.
Of course! They mostly come at night. Mostly…
Fuck you! Bastards! Oh, you want some too? Fuck you!
No amount of editing could make Ed Furlong less annoying in T2 though.
Highlander is flawless. Although if anyone can be truly said to "own" that movie, it's Queen.
I definitely don't hate it. Even the bleakness of it was alright. My biggest gripe with it is that it's just dull. Also, all those alien-POV shots in the second half of the movie really start to get tiresome.
No no don't….damn, now I gotta go crawl through the vents to get you.
