What a shocker… AV Club isn't WOW'd!
What a shocker… AV Club isn't WOW'd!
That's fine. Vulture's coverage of Nashville has always been better than this site anyway. Another reason I keep migrating away from the disappointment AVClub has become lately. Oy.
The This American Life telling of the story was really great when I heard it a couple years ago. One of those smacked with awe kind of stories.
Despite Avery, his song was actually pretty good. I loved how they used it to overscore the previous scene with Rayna and Deacon in the guitar closet too.
Oh Walder Frey……. :::shudder:::…….
skip to the episodes that aired in January. The January-March episodes were fantastic!
I don't know when they decided to flip the switch and make Dante Juliette's evil Yoko Ono? I like that they gave her some semblance of a love life that actually involved sex, but why does Dante have to be a douche?
I have to say though, that Song was FANTASTIC, and I don't think Gunnar would have made it better. I've always thought of Scarlette as a kind of new Dolly Parton. I don't think she needs Gunnar to fly, and I think the song proved it.
Total sarcasm, btw, but I do love the actress playing Emma. If she leaves this show at some point (in some kind of tragedy, where Norman will take on taxidermy in remembrance of her), I can't wait to see what show or movie she lands on.
Geeze VanDerWerf, can't Cystic Fibrosis be enough of a flaw? I'm sure caring around an iron lung is eazy-peazy!
When's Michelle gonna stop hating on Patricia? For all Patricia's annoyingness, she's still a surprisingly good designer. And every time Michelle utters "Patricia", I roll my eyes and say, "Here we go again! Shut up and worry about your own clothes, Michelle!"
Haha, I was thinking the SAME thing, ala 1974. My thought was were was John Denver and the Muppets?
Totally agree. They better never do this "audience" concept again. Or at least don't do the best out of 5, because it TOTALLY killed the suspense of who would win. And I LIKE seeing the judges deliberating and debating with each other. That's the best part of the show! It's funny too, because usually the finale gets…
What? No mention of the the amusing/strange/wonderful cameos of Dan Aurbach and Vince Gill? Dan seemed to genuinely enjoy his time at the Bluebird? I really hope the Black Keys drop by some time!
Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't just have Rayna not come in at all at the beginning and either have a panic attack, or walk off stage. That kind of stuff DOES happen at live shows, and would have definitely steered the drama in an interesting way. Though i also like that she did come in finally, I think it might have…
You already have a bad attitude about the show, so maybe it's a good thing you know now, so you don't have to keep watching.
This episode (and the last one too) made me so happy! Finally episodes of what I THOUGHT this show was going to be. There wasn't a scene where I rolled my eyes when we cut to it. Even the Teddy/Peggy stuff. I'm not an advocate for adultery, but I feel that it is actually developing into somewhat of a compelling…
You guys buried the lead! How did you not mention the "In The Air Tonight" sequence that included some shot-for-shot copies of this! ( http://www.youtube.com/watc… ). Luckily it actually worked really well, but still. That Miami Vice scene is so iconic!
I worked at the hotel Padma was housed at for all of Season 2 taping, and she was very much the epitome of "Mean Girl" in every way. A horrible guest to have, for TWO MONTHS. I thought she may have eased up, but tonight just proved she always and forever will be a raging b——
So, I guess Padma has absolute Carte Blanche right? Gayle was VEHEMENTLY fighting for Kristen. Question is, what did Kristen do that pissed Padma off so bad? Being pretty? It was inexcusable to let Josie stay. The rest of the episode was kind of fun, but Padma absolutely ruined it.
