I agree.  That choice bothered me as well.  They kind of hedged their bets about it by saying it was the last 'confirmed' sighting of the Batman, but it seemed that was where they were going.  It cuts against the ending of the Dark Knight with the Joker claiming they are going to be doing this forever and Gordon's

Outside of number two, those are about the weakest plot holes I've ever seen.  Why aren't the cops more dirty and why isn't Bane wearing an even heavier coat dammit!?!

The plot twist is foreshadowed.  Daggett is seen complaining about how Tate stole the board away from him and then is instantly killed by Bane.  The minute that happened, I thought "Bane wanted Tate to have control of the board" because as soon as that is acccomplished, he kills Daggett instantly.

This was a decent, if not great movie.  It was better than Batman Begins, but not better than the Dark Knight.  It's main problem is the problem that plagues most filmmakers in their 'final installments'.   It is TOO epic.   The scale is too big and as a result, the narrative arc is hampered.  We don't get to spend

I am guessing there is nobody that wouldn't take 1000 dollars to stop hanging out with you forever.

Yeah, I wouldn't put them on the level as some of the stories on this list, but they're good reads and mostly self-contained.   You could give them to any new reader of any age.

I am not sure.  You seem to prefer mediocre movies to good ones so we need to find out whether this movie is mediocre or good before giving a proper recommendation We should know starting tomorrow.  Hopefully, it will star at least one scene of Gordon driving the Batmobile for you.

That is literally all it is.  The story is practically "Let Jim Lee draw the Batman/Superman fight from Dark Knight and the Neal Adams swordfight, etc."   The ending made no sense and I am pretty sure that Jeph Loeb had no idea where he was going when he started (I think he resolved his mysteries by just plugging in

Remember when Darwyn Cooke said that he was leaving the world of corporate comics because he wanted to go and do his own thing?  I was happy for him.  I was guessing we'd get a lot of great work from a great cartoonist.  Sad how he is wasting this time on Before Watchmen rather than doing those new things he seemed so

No kidding.  The last two posts say more about people's true positions than anything in this thread.
